A word about Thai Top Ten. This review is based on quality assurance. We called ahead to see if this location was busy. They were not, and when jokingly asking if they would like to be, the answer was an undeniable, “Yes, please!” I told Am how many would be in our party ahead of time. When we arrived, everything was set up and reserved. The food was great and it came out fast. We were commended for calling ahead for a party of 11. Am (pronounced Umm) was soon replaced by Kim? I think she said… anyway… ***** Here’s where the story changes … Kim? really ruined the experience for me. I was minutes from telling my whole party to get up and leave. Maybe because I was the youngest at the table she didn’t realize I was the one in control and I was moments from telling everyone to get up and let’s GO! **** She was professionally rude. You know, in a way that said, “I’m going to stop talking to you because you are probably not going to tip me.” It all started when I pointed out the dirty and disgusting mold-like substance in my ice. When I pointed out the floating flat chunks of “black items” in my ice, she saw them clearly and told me it was carbonation. as if I was incredibly stupid! As all my followers know, I have owned two restaurants over a period of six years before I sold them. The details of what this may have been and mostly was are described at the bottom. Ok, let’s continue. She was rushing us and very condescending. Although I called 90 minutes before closing and expressed that we wanted to come with a party of 11, she was obviously ready to go home. With such a group, it brought in additional clients to a restaurant upon entering only had 2 tables full. We were told how slow it was that night, and soon after we arrived, the restaurant looked busy with people coming in after us. Mostly because of us. We were told to hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing. We still had plenty of time from their closing time to order. It was 9 pm when we arrived, and they close at 10 pm. I get it. But if that’s the case, maybe you should have told us over the phone that the kitchen closes at 9:30 pm. It was a first time experience here and good luck with asking questions. She didn’t want to hear it. I would have preferred Am as my server because at least he smiled and joked with us. **** I felt racially profiled. My end of the table got the very short end of the stick in this experience. We never met but both of us were food connoisseurs and social media influencers. Our end of the table was made up of two families, one being of Asian descent and myself being Afro-American. (6) **** Key points: - Food was great - Food was prepared fast - Food came out hot But if you are a person of color, you are probably not going to have a great time here. Tired or not, this was not a good customer service experience for me. Considering I don’t pull the race card often, she obviously has made me put all my cards on the table. Let’s talk about the hovering over me as i reviewed my 4 line check and took a picture to upload for business purposes as she stood there with her hand out. As you can see from the other negative reviews it’s not a real problem with the food but how a female employee is very rude and unprofessional. We didn’t have to spend our money here but we choose to support a family owned business. Customer service is everything. If it’s met with opposition and “we are never wrong or the problem then you will alway be they place known for good food, with filthy ice and a rude attitude. What are the black specks in restaurant ice? Dark brown or black flakes can occur when the non-stick coating on your ice maker begins to flake off. If this is happening, it's probably time to replace your ice maker. Why is there black stuff in my ice cubes? If the water lines are old or damaged, they might be releasing particles into the ice. Ice mold and components: It's possible that there is a component within the ice maker, such as the ice mold or related parts, that has deteriorated or is releasing particles.

Overall Rating: 7.1/10 The establishment offers a bar-like, casual setting complemented by exceptionally welcoming staff, providing a homely experience with quality food. Atmosphere: 6.9/10 It embodies a typical local Thai place, focusing more on cultural ambiance than formal dining, contributing to a distinctive and pleasant atmosphere. Service: 8.5/10 The two individuals managing the floor were notably friendly. Guests are invited to sit wherever they prefer, and the staff promptly greets them with politeness and engaging interaction. The server's playful banter with a young guest about finishing Pho broth added a personal touch to the meal. They also showed attentiveness by checking on water and confirming the bill amount, enhancing the overall dining experience. Food: Beef Pho: 7.6/10 Unexpectedly available and impressively better than many places branding themselves as "authentic Vietnamese." Pineapple Fried Rice with Beef: 5.1/10 A decent dish overall, though both the beef and rice were slightly on the dry side. Appetizer Platter: 6.1/10 All items were well-cooked and crispy, especially the spring rolls. The addition of a variety of sauces could further complement the range of appetizers. Chicken Satay: 6.3/10 The dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and the freshness of the homemade peanut sauce and cucumbers was evident. Value: 7.1/10 The price of $53 for two main dishes and several appetizers represents excellent value. The service quality and food justified a higher tip, leaving the guests more than satisfied with the experience.

Thai Top Ten is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. We have been to the Grace street location many times and always enjoyed our meals. I am excited that they opened one in Glen Allen. Walked in a little after 12 PM on a Tuesday, the place was packed, all tables were filled. It is a good sign, that means food must be good. As busy as they were, service was quick and friendly. Dining room was clean and cozy. There were three large TVs on opposite walls. They have a full bar as well. My most favorite dish is KHA PROW MOO SAB MIX MOO KROB (Crispy Pork/ Ground Pork/ Onion/ Green Beans/ Thai Basil/ topped with Fried Egg). If you don’t like crispy pork, there is a dish with ground pork only. You have to try it, it has so much flavor and perfect combination of all the ingredients. Drunken Noodles was as good as always. Make sure you get the flat noodles. If you don’t like your dishes sweet, please do not order AMAZING THAI under the curry section. It was prepared with sweet peanut sauce and the sauce was so over powering. We did not like it at all. If you are in the mood for appetizers, try the Money Bag. It was delicious! Spring Rolls and Fried Dumplings were good but nothing special. I felt the lunch portions were small. All and all, you will love the food and come back again.

My husband and I decided to grab a bite to eat being that we were in the area and exhausted. We've been a few times before and have always had a great time so we figured we stop in for a quick bite. Upon entering, we chose our seat as usual, and was able to order shortly after being seated. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrées. To our surprise, we noticed customers who came in after us receiving their meals while we were still awaiting our appetizers (which was just 2 orders of the fresh rolls). Finally after waiting about 15-20 minutes we received our entrées and 1 of our appetizers. When I mentioned to our waitress that we were missing 1 of the appetizers, she looked confused and her demeanor instantly changed. Despite me being polite and using manners, she rolled her eyes and walked off. She returned midway through our meal to drop off the missing appetizer and even after I thanked her, I received no response. She walked away and didn't return again until it was time to drop off the tab. Thankfully there was a guy working who saw that our glass was empty and refilled our drinks for us but at this time, we had already finished eating our meal. We paid our tab, tipped our waitress and left. After this experience, I don't think we'll be returning to this location. We just didn't feel the nice/friendly/warm welcoming that we usually experience here. Although the food was good, it seemed as if our waitress didnt want to serve us/be bothered with us. I'd also add that her demeanor towards others was nothing like how it was towards my husband and I. The restaurant wasn't even busy so I'm unsure as to why she treated us the way she did but treated the other table differently. For the $60 my husband and I spent, we should've received...
