Not so “Good” sport, in fact they play a bad sport here. Ordered the “The Good Burger”, “Bird is the Word”, “Down-the-Hatch Burger” and the “The Veg Head”. The first three are listed on the menu coming with Brioche bun. But upon receiving the plates they were all serve with your regular plain sesame buns. At no point at all they at least had the decency to let us know before bringing the plates, cause is not that there is any price adjustment. To make matters worst, the waiter was asked for the reason for all three lacking the brioche and in response he indicated that it was “just changed to sesame bun”, hear this, “sesame brioche bun” look at the picture, like if we are that stupid. Are you kidding me!!!! It was more disappointing the fact the waiter thought he could just plainly lie in our face considering they could have notified us before bringing the order to the table. Nothing was change on the price, go figure. The “good burger” sauce is simply a bi-mac sauce, now you add the sesame buns and now you really have an overpriced bic-mac (AVOID THIS AT ALL CAUSE). The bird, in addition to also being destroyed with another crappy cheap sesame buns, the supposed thai dressing went also missing (perhaps went party with the brioche). Two stars because at least the Veg head was the only item that came the way it was supposed to.

Decided to check out the food the Good Sport, in our hotel. I'm so glad we stopped in for lunch. The food was delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich with kimchi. It was perfectly fried succulent thigh meat, with the added touch of kimchi. I had a side of truffle fries. The fries were crispy and delicious. The cheese curds and fried pickles were also great. The cob salad was also very good. Definitely give them a try. The service was great too.

Rating: 3.5 on UVA game night. Solid 4 rating other times.

I've been here three times. The food is great pub food, with a fairly good variety. However, if you go on a game night, they are understaffed, and the service is not great.

If you must go on UVA game night, make a reservation for 5:15 p.m. or earlier; 5 p.m. is better.

If your reservation is at 5:30 p.m., you will miss the tip-off.

As an example, we were seated promptly at 5:30 p.m. (we showed up at 5:15 p.m.). The table was ready, but they didn't want to seat us because of the busyness of the place.

There was no water and no one to check on us until we flagged someone down at 5:55 p.m. Food didn't show up until 6:25 p.m. Lesson learned.

I would recommend this place, just not on a game night unless you get the 5pm seating. They...

Wow, Darden. Wow. For a school that touts itself as a “top 15” MBA program, they clearly have no clue how to run the most basic of businesses: a restaurant. Absolute disaster. Manager was extremely rude, and completely out of sorts. Bartender was doing her best to keep the place afloat, while manager was pushing her stress on everyone around her. Was going to order food, but manager barked at me that they are running a 45 minute ticket time before rushing away. Just being in the room gave me pretty serious anxiety. Promote bartender, fire manager. Won’t be back. PS, stood at host table for 10 minutes and nobody ever arrived so...
