I have never enjoyed group exercise and have usually been successful working out on my own, usually running. When COVID hit, I needed more structure and found myself unable to motivate myself to run independently with all races cancelled and nothing to train for or goals focus on. After multiple friends raving about Orange Theory, I decided to give it a try.
I took my free introductory class July 23 and called the next day to sign up for unlimited because I didn't want to miss another class. I have been hooked since! With 154 classes under my belt, I can promise there will be hundreds more. I value the structure of being told exactly what to do, corrected kindly if I am doing it incorrectly, and leave sweaty after a diversified workout (weight floor, rowing machine, and treadmill.)
When I considered joining, I was worried that I was going to have to "earn" a place in the community, but felt at home immediately. The staff greeted me by name before every class and continues to be so accommodating and welcoming. Each and every coach is top-knotch and comes to every class ready to inspire (even at 5 am.) OTF is a home for all fitness levels (light weights, ability to walk on the treadmill judgment free) where participants have the ability to challenge by choice. Every day you are empowered to pick your own adventure. I could go on and on, but encourage you that if you're considering giving it a try, just do it! Who knows how it could change the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe work outs were okay- I think the cardio portion is good but the strength/floor work is just so fast paced that it felt like I was being pushed through movement with no concern about posture or correct form. That probably would have improved with more classes but unfortunately class times are super limited. This is probably a great gym if you donāt work or have zero outside commitments but 3 classes a day to choose from when paying 160/ month was not a good value for me personally. I felt like I was told the pantops location would have more classes to choose from when they opened so I gave it several months and it just didnāt have a lot of options that worked for my schedule. The ones that did work were almost always full. Most of the staff is really helpful and nice, especially the trainers. I eventually decided to cancel membership as I was not able to make the schedule work and that was a process. I was strung along for over a month being told a manager had to do the cancellation, but there was never one available. Finally I spoke with someone who said that info was incorrect and I just needed to fill out a form. All in all the workouts were pretty good and the trainers were great. The administration portion really needs work and the cost seems a little high given the lack of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am back at orange theory fitness! I used to go to OTF in another state and it's the only place/ exercise routines that actually work for me as far as getting into amazing shape.
I love the atmosphere, and as someone who has high anxiety and depression, the workouts really gives me a lovely dopamine and serotonin hit for the day!
The music helps and is always on point! The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming! The energy and vibe is fun and yet chill... like do what you can, it's okay!
This location is great because the owner introduced herself on my first day! Also, I've been really digging Katie and Ralanta, two of the trainers who really motivates the whole class and gives great one on one pointers to help your form while doing the exercises! Tons of free parking. If Also enjoy the app as it gives you details about your workouts and performance. If you like numbers, graphs and stuff, you will enjoy the app!
I'm an average person with below average numbers. I just started back and you cash see from my picture of a class. You can see what you did on the treadmill, rower, and the rest of the class. Your first day the usually break down what you are seeing and explain...
