Natalie Dressed — Local services in Charlottesville

Natalie Dressed is fabulous! I legitimately don't understand the negative reviews, and I'm a millennial, so I'm prone to cynicism haha. If you ask what styles/brands/season they're currently taking/sell best, they give great guidance, and I've had lots of luck both consigning and shopping here over the years! Every time I walk in, Cara goes out of her way to say hi! She remembers things I've bought/brought in, and provides a nice shopping experience without feeling like you're in the way even when they're super busy with incoming items!

My favorite things I've found here are from: Herno, Johnny Was, Nili Lotan, Madewell, Mother, MISA, Golden Goose, Officine Creative, and some funky well-made but lesser known brands I've discovered while shopping here (typically originally from Eloise/Scarpa).

Anywho, one of my absolute favorite spots! Each consignment/resale shop in town has it's own personality, so just figure out what works best at each place and don't take it personally if your items aren't accepted. The only reason I'm giving a one star review is because we can't leave zero stars!! Upon entering the shop to try to conduct business about consigning some clothing the woman in charge was instantly rude!! They did not even look at anything just picked up a handful of items and said oh this is just too much, this is overwhelming and I can't do this, it's just too much! Mind you it was 2 boxes nothing to be overwhelmed about!! I can see why there aren't anyone in the shop and all of the pictures of the shop that are posted on their page is literally their own people! Not one of them is an actual customer! And don't think you are going to get nice parking there because the lot is extremely small and shared with other stores so the employees park in front of the store making customers park in areas you're not supposed to! I LOVE this store and the women who run it! They have a well curated collection of wonderful clothing, shoes and accessories that reflect current fashion and are in great condition. The brands they stock range from very high end to less expensive (but still good quality), so there is truly something for everyone. The women who own/run the shop are awesome-friendly, stylish and eclectic-just like the attire you'll find there. Visiting with them is as much fun as trying on all of the one-of-a-kind, new-to-you clothing! This is one of my favorite places to shop in Charlottesville, for the clothing and for the company!
