Cook Out — Restaurant in Virginia

||| Before I was employed by this franchise, my high school friends and I would go out to play some racquetball at the gym every Friday night and finish it off with some fast food. And the choice of dinner was indisputable--Cook-Out every time.

||| If you haven't heard about Cook-Out, chances are there will be at least one item on the menu to get your taste buds going, but I personally prefer the Cook-Out Tray combo which includes one entree item, two side items, and a beverage or shake.

||| I'm not a fan of fried food, which is why I don't visit fast-food often. What keeps me returning to Cook-Out is the variety of grilled items they have. I usually get a chicken sandwich cajun style, with two chicken quesadillas and a sweet tea. It's a perfect portion of carbs and lean protein. And at under $5 it's a steal compared to the food service places around here.

||| The dual lane service moves the line faster than most fast-food setups. However, the drawback of this place is feeling rushed to make an order, as the workers will want to move the line as fast as possible. Customers will almost always be in front of and behind you in peak hours, but the wait times are very reasonable if none of the customers order food at the window.

||| The primary reason I give this location 5 stars is because it not only excels at its purpose, but it strives to gain and keep an ever-growing audience. Every day I hear more and more people visiting Cook-Out. This food shack is still growing even on its 4th year expanding out a few more restaurants in nearby locations. Visited the East Ridge Rd. I am absolutely disgusted at the customer service and the cleanliness of the merchandise I received. I went through the drive through at the 2nd window where the driver side is at the window on Friday April 5th, 2019 around 7:45pm. When riding up to the window the person taking the order said in an extremely RUDE tone "What's Your Order!!" I than proceeded to order 2 peach shakes and asked for extra extra peach in both of them. We pulled to the window the girl swung open the window told me the price as I provided my card I asked the girl to please make sure there was extra peach in the shakes she than rolled her eyes and made a nasty face and closed the window. She came back with the 2 shakes and the milkshakes were spilling all through the top of the cups and down the sides of the cups and leaked all over my fiances brand new shirt and all over my car. She never gave me my receipt and I didnt have time to ask for anything to help before she shut the window. It was a young girl with black hair a d glasses. It is absolutely disgusting to have someone working in customer service who is that nasty and rude with that type of attitude! This is exactly why I prefer to drive all the way to short pump which is 20 mins out of my way rather than going 5 minutes up the street to this worthless location! I will never ever spend my money at this...

The food is mediocre and tastes like what you'd expect from the namesake of this place, but the prices are incredibly low, so you pay for what you get. Unfortunately, this place does not have a dine-in, it is drive-thru only.

There are two drive-thrus at this location, one for each side of your car. I don't recommend using the one that is facing Ridge Road unless you have a passenger in your car (or happen to be driving a vehicle that has the steering wheel on the other side of it), since it makes it difficult to pay the cashier and get your food.

The other drive-thru has its own problems, the biggest one being that the speaker is of poor quality and it is sometimes difficult to hear what the order taker is saying on the speaker. The menu is also crammed and it is difficult to read.

The negatives aside, they do have a very big menu, so chances are they should have something for whatever is your mood. As I said, the food isn't of the best quality, so do not expect what you may get at Wendy's or Arbies. But if you don't feel like paying a lot for fast food and don't care, then this is an optimal place...
