Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

I absolutely love Tropical Smoothie and always have a great experience whenever I visit one. However, I have given this one a chance twice. The first time, I ordered a wrap and it literally look like they through it together in a rush, I just throwed it away. The second time I visited them last week when their power was out, which wasnt there fault however it was really hot in there, with the weather in the 100's all last week. So, when I walk in I was second in line and I guess they were still trying to adjust and see customers so the guy with the blonde spiky hair tells everyone to get up and get to work. He seemed like a tyrant and unprofessional. I know it was hot but that's no way to speak to your employees and then he is sitting at the cash register fanning himself with the money in the cash register. So I order my smoothie and three other people come in behind me and order. The person in front of me and all the 3 people behind me got their order and left, so I ask where was my smoothie a simple sunset smoothie and he gives my order to the girl in the back because it had been sitting on the counter the entire time and doesn't apologize or anything. It's too hot to be waiting so I tell him to give my money back and leave. Clearly this guy care more about the money than anything because he kept touching it and playing with it. They need to train him better because you can tell he knows the owner or may be the son, but still you wont get far allowing him to act like that. Won't return and as a business owner myself and Bed and Breakfast owner I will not refer my customers...

It was a horrible experience. I had asked what was in one of their greener smoothies and they said it was going to taste gingery . I asked for a smaller size so I could try it. She said no that was the only size. She was really unhelpful with helping me navigate the menu to get food with it. First the chef said to talk to the cashier. Then the cashier said to talk to the chef. The same chef said she made the drink perfect and for me to add sugar. I told her sugar would not help because it was initiating my gag reflex . I came there because my mom was getting over cancer and I thought it would be nice after our Aveda appointment. The only message they send is the customer is not important because its just another number . I would not recommend this place to any mature client with self respect that might want to try something new. The service at this location is slow and poor. I have been trying to ignore it since it's the closes location to my house but I cannot anymore. The wait for your order is about 15 minutes, the staff is nasty and not friendly. I called one time to place my order over phone and the person hung up on me. Then we I called back she said I didn't hear anybody on the line with an attitude not I'm sorry about that or how can I help you. Another times my smoothie was not made correctly (no favor missing ingredients). I have called this location several times to speak to a manager and the manager is never there leave a message with staff or on voicemail never receive a return call.
