I just wanted to tell you about my experience....So it was my boyfriend's and I anniversary, and we originally decided to go to the Mexican restaurant where we had our first date, but this place was closer to home after a long day's work.... Well, we walk in and stand at the door for a good 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us (the restaurant is empty). Finally, we are seated... We sit there another 15 minutes before the server comes to the table. He asked for our drink order (he speaks no English), which is fine, but how is he supposed to understand us? My boyfriend orders a margarita, and I order a soda. A young girl comes back to the table and says We don't have a bartender, and we don't know how to make drinks... so I say, well, can you just pour a shot of something? She says No... oooook... So, we order our food ...my boyfriend orders a chicken chimichanga ... and I order Texana con pollo, which is basically cheesy rice with chicken steak and shrimp on top ... the server brings our food. My boyfriend's food is wrong. It's not chicken... It's definitely beef ... My food is wrong ... I got a burrito with sliced cheese on top that looked like it has been thrown in the microwave. YUCK ... I tried to be polite as possible and tell them it was wrong ...They didn't act phased or concerned .. So, I tried to make the best of it and eat it anyway... My plate didn't have any cheesy rice, which was supposed to come with my meal ...so I asked for some ... and was charged for it .. So, when it came time to leave and pay, I asked the young lady if she could take it off the bill because it was supposed to come with the meal .. she said she couldn't do that because there was no manager there... So, at this point, I'm irritated. My food is disgusting. I didn't eat any of it .. and now I'm going to pay extra for something that was included in my meal... I said I'm not paying for the rice, and she rudely says you don't have to pay for anything and rips up the receipt .... I do not recommend this place highly unprofessional ... Elcharro was wayyyy better!! Thanks for ruining what was supposed to be a...
Read moreNormally, I really love this place. My girlfriend and I would go there anytime we had the money or were able. It was a great place to go if you had killing for an enchilada. I say normally though, because a recent event ruined the whole experience for me.
Sadly to say.
We went in on a particularly empty day, and by that I basically mean that we were the only ones there. Seated was fine, the waiter started out fine aside the fact of him running around on his cell phone a lot. We got our waters and both decided to get chimichangas. Mine was soft taco style and her's hard and we both wanted beef instead of chicken.
Clearly, he either wasn't listening, because while both of us got it soft taco style [which wasn't that big of a deal] they also came back as chicken. My girlfriend is pretty soft spoken in public and didn't seem to mind it. I, however, have no taste for chicken. knowing this, when the waiter asked if all was ok, I quickly informed that it was supposed to be beef.
At which he just stood their for a while before going, "no, you told me chicken." I'm sorry. I'm normally the type that if a small order mix up happens, I take it, but this was a whole meal on which I wouldn't have been able to eat. So, I said once again that I was supposed to have beef, we both where. To which again, he awkwardly stared for a bit before finally taking the plate and leaving.
He returned, with the right food, and set it down. I said thank you and sorry for the trouble just because things like that make me nervous, but he didn't seem to want to hear it. Sliding it to me and rushing away like I was some sort of issue. Aside that, he would go off on his phone some more and barely came around.
The whole ordeal was stressing and I wasn't even able to finish my food. I just wanted to go home by that point.
I used to love this place, it was usually nice and most of the waiters really put an effort out. This might have been a bad case of just one ill worker... but I can't see myself going...
Read moreWe saw the wonderful reviews and decided to surprise our grandmother with taking her out to lunch. I have no idea where those recent great reviews came from! I'm surprised none of us got sick! We were immediately seated (almost no one was there anyways) but waited almost an hour for drinks. No one ever stopped and asked us. We didn't even get menus until we got to ask for drinks! We then waited almost another hour for someone to come take our orders, while we were contemplating leaving and trying somewhere else. We ended up staying and regretting it. When we thought our food came out in decent time, turned out they delivered the food for the table next to us. Any other restaurant I've ever been to would've never given the other table the food just delivered to "strangers", but the server took the food and handed it right to them! We were shocked! About 30 mins later, food came out one by one to our table. We all ordered very simple dishes but someone our food took all afternoon to be done. All of our food was lukewarm or cold. My quesadilla was absolutely disgusting. No cheese in sight and looked like someone took a can of chicken soup and dumped it into the tortilla. None of us could finish our food. While we were trying to eat, the server wouldn't stop bringing my boyfriend glasses of water. Before we left, he had 4 glasses of water and he barely drank one! The only good part was our margaritas. At least this place can get drinks right, even if it takes 25 to an hour to bring them to us, and there were only 2 other tables besides us! We felt like we were being held hostage while waiting for our check. No one ever came back to ask how our food was, if we needed anything, just brought multiple glasses of water within 5 seconds. We were very quick to get out of there. We will not be returning! Not saying don't go and try the experience for yourself, but none of us will ever be...
