Went here for an early mother's day dinner. We called ahead to see if there was a wait and were told seating was available. I arrived with my party of 7 and we were directed to the high top tables. I had some older family members in my party who, understandably, did not feel comfortable at the high top tables. As such we were directed to an adjoining room with regular tables and booths. The tables were set up for groups of 4 and we had a party of 7. We asked if the tables could be pushed together and were told that was not possible, despite their being a large party seated behind us that had several tables pushed together. Nevertheless, we ordered our meals and our waiter brought out some cornbread, which we all enjoyed. Interestingly, he did not immediately bring plates. Most restaurants, even lower end establishments, provide plates for bread. We made few comments about it and I assume he overhead, so brought out some large bowles. The food began to arrive. Due to the limited children's menu, my kids elected to share a fish dinner with two sides of macaroni. The fish was brought out, however, the macaroni was not. It wasn't until about 10 minutes later, after we stopped another employee, that they finally brought out the side item. I ordered the shrimp po boy. I thought the shrimp was good, however, I did not care for the choice of bread used. My wife ordered the oyster po boy and did not eat her bread at all. We did enjoy the fries. The macaroni was good, the fish was decent and we had some jambalaya that was good. Over all, I was disappointed. Based on the stellar reviews, I expected more. My parents had been previously and enjoyed their visit. Most of the menu items are priced on the higher side $15-$20, so I expected a more premium experience. We informed the hostess we had a party of seven and were seated at two separate tables that were next to each other, but we couldn't slide them together so we could enjoy our mother's day meal at one table? Unacceptable, especially when the group behind us had tables put together. No plates for bread? Our server, who was very friendly, brought out a bowl of cornbread and extra napkins. Bread plates should have already been on the table. I've been to restaurants where they bring the kids meals out first, and here they were the last ones to get their food. These are basic things I expect from most restaurants and going to a place with prices like Orleans Bistro, I shouldn't even have to ask. We spent about $100 for 2 fish dinners, 2 sandwiches, a small jambalaya, a kids chicken nuggets and an iced tea. That includes the 20% gratuity that was already added on to the bill. I know this is common when serving large parties, but we had 4 adults and 3 children and we weren't even all seated together. I will add a disclaimer that one of the managers/owners did stop by to ask about our visit. My mother enjoyed her meal and didn't want to complain, so I left it alone. As such we did not give the restaurant an opportunity to try to make things right by offering a free dessert or coupon or taking something off the bill. Nevertheless, my experience was what it was. I did enjoy the jambalaya and would be open to returning in the future if the reviews...
Read moreThis is a delay review as I tried to resolve this matter with the company. Back in January, I had a party and did their catering service. Katisha was great. The problem started when I picked up the food.
When I came to get the food, I noticed that the chicken pan was opened. I asked the lady to ensure everything was closed because I did not want any spills. She told me that if she close the chicken it will sweat and be soft. I told asked her to close it. She did. She then began to put things in my vehicle. I was trying to check things and she ensured everything was closed. I asked her about a smear on a pan where the shrimp and grits sauce was. She wiped the smear off and put it on top of one of my recycling groceries bag stating it was closed.
I went home which was about 20 mins away. I don't drive crazy but did need to make turns. I get home and the sauce in all over my trunk area. I did not contact them at that moment as I wanted to be respectful, however I connected them the same night after my party. Katisha was respectful and responded immediately. I even sent pics showing the pan was not closed.
Here where the next issue occurs. I am vegan so I did not partake in eating the food I ordered. This party was a surprise party for my Mom. Family came from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York. They enjoyed it. Initially, I was offered a $75 gift certificate to eat at their restaurant. This wouldn't benefit me and too far for my family to enjoy. I asked that they offer $75 to clean my vehicle. Please note that I drive a Volvo XC90 which is three rows. I just had my vehicle detailed 9 months prior and it's just me in my vehicle. To clean a three row vehicle is over $300 so $75 is not even close to the price. Per Katisha, the company agreed with the price and I even offer to pick up the money. They said they would mail the check. After 2 weeks, I contacted Katisha and she said that she would re-engage. I heard nothing afterwards. I said surely they will make it right. NO, sadly they haven't. It's sad but I guess we will see each other in small claims. Am I hurting over $75 absolutely NOT. However, I didn't need to detail my vehicle as it was previously detailed. I also showed that through pics that the item wasn't wrap correctly. Which was...
Read moreEDIT: Many thanks to Tisha, the Owner for her expedient customer service in reaching out to us and professionally extending her sincerest apologies for this mishap. She was very kind and courteous in ensuring that she understood our grievances and would love the opportunity to make it better to the best of her ability. I am grateful for her service.
My family and I traveled to this restaurant to celebrate my nephew’s graduation. It was a big deal to us for so many reasons, one of which that he is a cancer survivor, with this graduation marking 20 years since his diagnosis and 19 years in remission. We were so excited to sit across from one another and bask in the joy of celebrating him. My sister booked this reservation long in advance so we figured everything was good. We get there and there’s no table to accommodate our party size which was even smaller than we had booked for. We even got there earlier than our designated reservation time and waited a very long time in hopes that they would eventually get ready for our party. It’s wild to me that they even allowed us to book for a party larger than four because no table in there looked like it could hold more than that. To make matters worse, the manager Sonia was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I can bet the only reason they’re still in business under her leadership is because the competition in the area isn’t too stiff. She was dismissive and made absolutely no efforts to accommodate what we had booked prior. We ended up awkwardly seated between two tables, one of which directly sat in the sun because their janky blinds had apparently fallen days before. If we hadn’t been so exhausted and so far from home, we would have just left. The food was great and our server was nice but that was all overshadowed by nasty attitude having Sonia. We were taken aback to learn that she was the manager due to her not presenting in a leadership manner at all. I’ll give credit where it’s due. The food was good and the servers were kind and courteous. But that management…absolutely not. What a damper on an otherwise celebratory day. We had such high hopes and they weren’t met by way of someone with a nasty attitude and no orientation in...
