This hotel is usually welcoming and inviting. I have been homeless for a year and have been coming here and to a few other hotels with my family. This hotel and the staff are mostly chill.
Until recently, I have acquired my service dog a week before moving and decided to come to this hotel. I will admit my service dog is a bully (Unusual breed) but gets his job done and has the perfect personality for mobility work.
When first coming from Maryland we called the hotel to confirm and was told that only two questions would be asked which were the legally allowed questions "Is it a service Animal?" and "What task do they preform?". Though at the hotel it was a diffrent story the manager had approached the car after we booked and asked "Is he a pitbull" which I responded "No he is an American Bully". He then asked about his task and asked for paper work (The nonexistent Registry question that all handlers fear).
I explained that a service dog registry does not exist we had went back and forth and he also mentioned that my dog was not vested. I admitted to leaving the vest at my job and apologized. We still had a minor argument about the registration and he mentioned that some breeds cannot be service dogs. I of course pulled up the ADA and showed the false info and tried to Inform that the government has NO FORM OF LEGAL REGISTRY. He allowed us in and I was grateful but the environment felt unwelcoming and could tell my dog and I were not very welcome.
The first and only issue was during breakfast. I was bringing my pup in after a long walk to burn energy and prepare for the day and while walking past the breakfast area I noticed concerned parents and the kitchen worker step away in fear and say "I don't like them pitbull dogs.". Plus my pup was shedding and I read that service dogs couldn't be were food was being prepped and kitchen areas. So respectful left my pup in the room with family and ate. I was away for no longer than 15 minutes and my sister locked the key card in the room.
I approached and asked for a new one and the manager asked me "Where's the dog?" and I responded "He is in the room eating his kibble for the morning while I came out to get breakfast." They she then roller her eyes and groaned before saying "The dog has to stay with you" I tried to explain myself yet anxiety got in the way I explained horribly. I am sensitive to body language and tones of voice due to my past. Both managers were clearly unhappy and I tried to explain that he was not alone in the room but with 2 adults.
At the end I was told by some one that the two were talking about me and my dog and how they couldn't wait for us to leave and how they disliked pitbulls. I was confused and slightly hurt since I did do my best to follow their rules. I did confront them and ask which they denied and wanted to know who said it but of course I'm no stitch and refused. My mother also confronted them and called me so I could listen.
They mentioned that my dog wasn't with me at breakfast and wasn't vested. They also mentioned the call from corporate they received after my first review plus complaint. The thing that got me was the part when they said "If their service dog was real they would know that their dog has to be everywhere." AT THIS POINT I BEG YOU PARDON?!! I am a certified service dog trainer under the AKC. I don't care how long you have been working at the hotel...you have been getting lied to for 5 years and have the nerve to tell me to read more???
There is mold and mildew in the showers. The muffins are dry and will make you sick. They eggs taste like water. Pull out beds have stains and smell funny. The pull out bed sheets have holes from the pull out mattresses. The blankets are scratchy and the floors In general have a strange musk smell. Other than what I talked about this hotel is wonderful.
Got banned from this hotel by the way🤣❤️
Yes i reported to...
Read moreFirst let me start by saying; I have visited/stayed at this hotel a couple times. The rooms are clean and spacious. My reason for a review isn’t the rooms; it’s the service.
I called on Sunday January 5th to inquire about the rental of the conference room; at that time I spoke the GM. My 1st complaint is that when you call this hotel, none of the employees announce their name. They all say, “comfort suits; how can I help you?” so sadly you never know the persons name in which you’re talking to. However, I was told that I was talking to the GM (still no name). Anyways she stated the space was available on the day that I needed. That it’s holds 50 people, and for 4hrs or less it’s $200 and anything over 4hrs would be $600. I expressed my interest and wanted to book the space immediately (mainly because it wasn’t that much more than the space I had booked elsewhere for 3hrs that only held 35 people). I called back on Monday and spoke with another lady (could have been the same person, but because they don’t announce names, I can’t be certain), but she said that she will pencil my name in and have “the person,” (again didn’t provide a name at all) who handles that space rental to give me a call. I asked for her to take my sister’s name & number because she’s the main one handling this event. I made sure that I repeated what the lady Sunday had told me about hours & pricing and that I desperately wanted to lock it in. The lady then said, “it won’t be rented from under you, if your name is written down,” (so I canceled my reservation for the other location). Finally on Wednesday Dale (the person who handles the rental started to reach out) via phone and text to my sister (sadly he & my sister played phone tag for a while). Fast forward to yesterday Thursday Jan 9th, my sister & Dale finally were able to talk. My sister told Dale what the GM told me about hours and pricing. Dale stated, “no, it’s $200 for 3hrs or less and anything over 4hrs is $400, I am not sure why or where those numbers came from.” My sister told Dale, she needed to talk to me and get back to him. Once I spoke with my sister I became upset because I canceled the previous reservation to go with this space due to pricing and hours and now all of a sudden the price is $200 more for just 1hr SMH….
I understand all about sales (I was a sales director at a hotel for 5yrs and did hospitality for a total of 11yrs), but Dale never once apologized and when my sister called back and said, “thank you, but no thank you,” (because it’s doesn’t make since to charge an extra $200 for just 1 additional hour. Now we had to reach out to the other place that we had canceled to see if their space was still available). Dale didn’t even fight to keep the business. He could have personally just let us keep the deal that the GM told us, because common sense would tell him, that we wouldn’t have canceled the previous space if we knew this particular space was going to cost us $200 more for 1 additional hour and space for 20 more people; than the previous space we had booked. Obviously the GM doesn’t handle the booking of the space because her numbers were off all together (as far as hours & rate), so Dale should have again offered to honor what she said this one time, mainly because we had already cancelled the our reservation for the other space to go with theirs because of the pricing that was given to us by the GM (not to mention that I repeated what the GM said when I called back on Monday).
I personally find that not introducing yourself when answering the phone, and then to not honor what was told by the GM is very...
Read moreThe location is good because it's close to I95, food, and entertainment. The rooms are setup nice and the bed is comfortable. The issue I had with the stay is the AC isn't working and we kept having to reset it to see if we could get it to work. We sweated more than anything in that room. We complained right after we checked in. We also told them the tv kept cutting off and was told unplug and then plug back up to see if it works; still didn't work. We were told they were having issues with the AC which we should have been told from the beginning when we expressed having AC was one of our concerns due to our unit at home not working and we were waiting for an AC. It was never mentioned until we saw how hot it was in the room. Then, it started working after the front desk had to mess with it for a little and we were told they would change our rooms if it kept happening. It stopped working in the middle of the night while we were sleep. I went to the front desk and was told all we could do was try to reset it ourselves and they would reset from downstairs. We are not maintenance. We had already paid and couldn't get our money back. I asked for the trash and stuff to be changed in my room after I asked housekeeping and was told I need to tell front desk. I was told they don't clean stay overs except every 3 days unless requested. I said okay can I request it. Then, she stated I would have to set my trash out by the door and bring dirty towels to the front desk and then she would swap them out but still declined service. I left for the day upset and I had to handle things. While i was at the front desk everyone downstairs eating breakfast was complaining about the heat. One lady even expressed how her and the kids woke up drenched. When my wife got back she saw how hot it was and called the front desk. She was told they couldn't move us as they didn't have anywhere to move us. I came in went to the front desk and was told they had 3 left to sell to be sold out and that a lot of rooms were out of service due to AC. I expressed that we were told we could be moved since some rooms did have a working AC. She explained the back and forth lies I was told. She also explained that the new GM came in to issues and was trying to fix things which wasn't our issue and should have been told about the AC since we clearly expressed the need from jump. We were told all we could do was message the GM and express our concerns. We were still unable to move as I was told the night auditor should have moved us. We were still not accommodated. The morning supervisor said all she could do about the TV was send the GM up to check it since no maintenance would be coming in. The only reason they got two stars is because of the location. Before you stay at this location, I would do my research and if the room feels hot leave and spend your money elsewhere. They are taking your money and don't care about your experience. The staff tells you different stuff and talks about each other which is a...
