I keep trying to get in touch with them but the email they have listed on their website does not exist and their Instagram is also ignoring messages. Hoping they'll see this since it's a more public forum.
I visited the Ballston Union Kitchen location, as I’ve long been a fan of their food and coffee selection. I was also excited to introduce a friend I had visiting from out of town to their breakfast offerings. Unfortunately, my experience was less than good.
First, we were disappointed to learn that the espresso machine was not working, meaning we couldn’t order any coffee. It would have been helpful if this had been noted on their online ordering platform ahead of time, as we had both checked the menu and it had given us options to order espresso drinks before we walked over. Additionally, the location was out of arugula, which my friend had thought would be the base of the salad she ordered.
However, the main issue was with with my order, where I had paid extra for certain options that I did not receive: The sandwich did not include the extra egg I paid for. Lettuce was missing, even though I added it. The bread was the standard option, not the rosemary as selected.
I’d appreciate any assistance you can provide in...
Read moreI ordered the turkey club no siracha mayonnaise with turkey bacon as I do not eat pork and mayonnaise upsets my stomach. It took around 15-20 mins for me to get my sandwich and there was only one other customer waiting with me. Given the amount of time it took, I expected the sandwich to be amazing only to be disappointed. 1) There was barely any turkey on the sandwich. For a $16 sandwich, I expected substantial amount of meat. 2) The sandwich was not toasted. 3) The inside of the sandwich was drenched in Siracha mayonnaise. The sandwich was basically a mayonnaise sandwich with tomatoes, onions, and way too much shredded lettuce. Due to the mayonnaise, I had to throw the sandwich away. I had already driven away to an appointment, so I did not have time to turn around and request my money back. Let me emphasize, I NEVER ask for my money back at a restaurant. If I don't like the food, I'll just deal with it understanding that there are times that we won't like the food, such is life, but this was beyond disappointing and I would really like a refund. The restaurant is way overpriced for what you get. I'll never return and highly recommend that you...
Read moreI originally started coming here because they were the only place nearby taking cash (L compass coffee), and I was hoping to spend my spare change. I was at the time low on my monthly allowance and needed a cheap place to spend some time studying. Being a teenager these days is very difficult. It feels like you can not exist without spending your soul on having fun. So I was glad to hear they took cash. Anyway, I continued coming here to study and finally used my spare 1 dollar bills getting vietnamese iced coffees. The staff are always upbeat and kind, and the place has a very accepting atmosphere. Today, though, I made a joke about only being able to afford the coffee with the last of my spare change, and as a response, I was given a discount. It's an action so small, but it says everything about solidarity in our community. I will keep coming here and urge others to do the same, not to expect discounts, but to support companies hiring kind cool people who bring a little light into...
