Today I went in to this Waffle House right up the street from my home. When I got there one other person was in front of my who ended up leaving because of the wait. I didn’t mind to wait because I had the intention of sitting down and eating. (First time I’ve been to sit at a restaurant this year normally I do DoorDash because of corona) after watching something watching YouTube I look up and walk to the end of the bar. The woman who took my order was extremely rude when I ask her if she had called my order, I let it go. However the problem for me was when I half jokingly said I had wanted to sit and eat. She smirked and said I could bust it open right there… when I looked around I saw everyone else dinning in with real plates and utensils. When she saw me look around she said well I can bring you a plate. I asked her why I was receiving a lesser customer service than everyone else. She told me I wasn’t and I asked for take out. Which i responded and said no I didn’t. Then she said yes I did. So at this point she is arguing with me. I told her I will pay for my food and never return. I NEVER write negative reviews because it’s stupid to dwell in the past. But this mad me so angry I have to share.
To give context I am a black Muslim woman and I wear all black. I do have my forearm neck and face exposed, minus the mask. My appearance should have nothing to do with the customer service that I received. I urge anyone and everyone not to eat here at this restaurant to make a statement. I do have pictures of my food that I ordered in the clothes that I was wearing while there. So if anyone has any objections to what I just said and my perspective. Bring it to me and I’ll have no problem stating my opinion again. But this prejudice should not go unnoticed and disregarded. Thank you...
Read moreGreat they were the only waffle House actually physically open for dine in in the entire Hampton roads area I'm not too sure about over on the Norfolk Virginia Beach side but certainly on the mainland side this is the only one. The young thin but tall black gentleman that waited on my friend and I when we came in was very courteous had excellent table manners in the way he helped us brought us our silverware in a hot water cup of water so as to let us know that the silverware is clean and kept our refills up to date. We were in there this past Saturday evening after or just before midnight which then in turn would had been the night of the 20th early morning if you ever want to reference the black gentleman that waited on us. I informed the manager on duty about him of his courteousness and everything and complimented him so hey you might want to try to look that guy up he was very helpful... The waiter that is ‼️ It was also a convenient waffle House right off the interstate you can turn into the shopping center using a stoplight and when you leave there's also a gas station there if you need to gas up and you're just cruising through town as a traveler so you can get gas on your way out. I'll make for certain to make this a pit stop again when I'm back in the area I live just up here in Richmond so it wouldn't be for traveling but for a midnight snack. Thanks for the...

I chose an incomplete order and here is why, I ordered online around 5:30 am, the online service said my order will be ready for pick up, by 6:09 am. I got there at 6:00 am thinking that theyre working on my order. 6:09 rolled along no order eorth $64 with %15 tip. So I raised my hand and Angel was kind enough to assist me. So i told her whats going on and she checked the register and sure enough my order is keyed-in but the lady at the counter(older caucasian lady maybe late 50's) was busy chatting it up with the customer. Its not a problem to talk to customers for it adds with the experience. But you better make sure all orders are in and nothing is left to chance. Thats 1 problem. No2 problem, the lady thats at the grill was easily flustered. She had about 2 or 3 orders including mine and she was already panicking. Long story short, 6:45 am rolls along and my order was still incomplete. I told the lady at the counter I'll take whatever she got for I waited long enough And stormed outta there out of frustration, Almost an hour wait. WAFFLE HOUSE, please tell your people that its ok to talk to customers, but not at the expense of the next person inline, as for your cook...... she wasn't up for the task as simple as that.
