Upon entering the house of waffles, we were pleasantly greeted by at least two of the four members of the staff. Stereotypical tv sitcom scenario, the blue haird gruffled manager lady "the closer then the rest in age" assistant manager (britany) and the two maybe second or first job kids. We were promptly served our drinks and orders taken quickly. The appearance and cleanliness were well within normal level in polite society. Not a busy location and also @ 1700. There's a bit of snippyness between the two female employees of younger age perhaps one called out last week, I don't know the situation and you know I'm just an outsider looking in. Before our food was delivered I did see the line cook (jessica)drop a bowl on the floor and the younger older assistant manager(britany) lady just wiped it out and put it back on top not actually washing it but just rubbing a dirty rag up on the outside of the bowl. I have nothing to say negitive but she did just use the bowl that was picked up off of the floor to mix my eggs in, not very cool Waffle House (or jessica). I will still eat it because I'm hungry and I'm not going to be a dick so they can spit in my food, but i guess this would the place I should be because I can watch whether or not they do excrete any bodily fluids into it, she's literally 6 feet from me. I'm assuming the food is about 6 minutes away from being done. My dining partner (jessie) is dealing with my rudness, sitting beside me reminiscing over Facebook memories from years past. Ahh memories. I will most likely not have a bad or good memory of this place, it's another in a long line of decent places to get food that other people touched. The younger girls seems to have taken the younger male under her Wing a bit in the day-to-day operations of cooking and cleaning and just general upkeep and preparation of running and maintaining a Waffle House franchise. Watch out Brittany! Overall I will give this dining experience 5 out of 5. And in about 30 mins I will be cursing East Coast Waffles, INC. to hell.

Read moreWe're visiting family here in VA from NYC and decided to stop here for a bite to eat with our kids. Coming into this waffle house was very unwelcoming. The table was not clean yet we still decided to give them a try. We had 5 people so we instead sat at the table top. When we moved they didnt clean the table top they were more so worried about cleaning the EMPTY TABLES, we had to ask for them to clean it. Which got us a attitude in return. The pregnant lady we were ordering our food with was being very immature. She laughed when I mentioned my father and significant other to whom she called "guy with black and white and guy with white and orange " Due to the noticeable age difference. Which infact is very unprofessional and snarly. MY FATHER asked her to please remain professional in her work setting. She then proceeds to whom I assume is her manager who was wearing all black and box braids. I can tell they were laughing at our family WHICH IS VERY CULTURALLY INSENSITIVE MIGHT I ADD. Afterward she explained she wouldn't be our server because the area we sat in is no longer her station. The next lady took our order AGAIN. They kept getting our order wrong and asking us what it is that we ordered. We had 3 all star meals and 2 waffle orders with 5 lemonades. They gave us our order ONE BY ONE. Instead of all at once. AND DIDNT GIVE US ANY CUTLERY. Instead gave us plastic forks. THEY forgot we ordered WAFFLES even though the waffles came with our meal. So we're waiting for half our meal while the other half is getting cold. The lady with all black makes 5 waffles gives 3 to our family members and the other 2 to the people waiting on to go orders MEANWHILE WE'VE BEEN WAITING 20 MINS. at this point I'm agitated and never wanna come or order from a waffle house again. The experience was RIDICULOUSLY EMBARRASSING AND UNACCEPTABLE. I wi be contact corporate to further investigate...

During my recent visit to this Waffle House, I found myself torn between appreciation for certain aspects and disappointment in others. On the positive side, the staff was notably kind and pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere that could have been the foundation for a lovely dining experience. Additionally, the food met expectations, delivering on flavor and comfort that Waffle House is known for.
Unfortunately, the positives were heavily overshadowed by critical shortcomings in the establishment's hygiene standards. The presence of cockroaches was not just alarming but a significant deterrent from enjoying the meal. It's hard to overlook such a glaring issue that speaks volumes about the overall cleanliness of the place, which was, frankly, well below par.
While the social aspect provided by the amiable staff might attract some, it's a thin silver lining that doesn't compensate for the lack of a clean, pest-free environment. If you're seeking a quality dining experience, this Waffle House sadly falls short of expectations. There are numerous other venues where one can enjoy both good food and a pleasant social setting without compromising on cleanliness. Would not recommend if you're looking for an...
