I very much like this Wawa! Generally the cheapest fuel prices around and you can also buy directly with the Wawa app. What I don't like, however, are customers who park in front of the pumps and spend half an hour inside the building. Yesterday it was very busy and I waited in line to get to a pump and was behind a pickup truck with a cargo trailer that blocked all the pumps in that lane. So, it was a beautiful day and I waited outside my car until the driver came out, a very large young gentleman with a giant sack of sandwiches and everything else. In total I spent about 20 minutes there waiting for him to eat his food inside and come out with even more. Anyway, it is not uncommon to find a work truck or other vehicle parked in front of the pumps and the driver nowhere to be seen, and they will be there when I arrive and after I leave. If people would be considerate and park in a parking space after getting fuel or to eat, there won't be long lines at the pumps and this would be the perfect gas station. You can also park in the hospital lot if you are capable of walking 50...
Read moreI'm so excited that Wawa has finally come to Charlottesville. Growing up in Philadelphia, Wawa was an everyday occurrence, a familiar touchstone of the Northeast. When I left the Philly area for Virginia, I knew that part of what I was leaving behind was easy access to comfort at a Wawa. I was invited as a guest to their pre-opening event, and I'm excited for what Wawa can do to join a community. A Wawa is a sort of a community forum, a place to meet, speak, eat, refuel, and share. With great food, fantastic service, and kind, bright people, Wawa is hard to beat! I'm looking forward to great coffee, delicious soft pretzels, tuna melts, sizzlis, cheesesteaks, and a whole lot more. Oh, and the Gobbler at Thanksgiving! I'm really looking forward to that. A good analog experience is Sheetz, though Sheetz is like visiting your cool friend's house, while visiting Wawa is like coming home. Thanks for all...
Read moreNot only do Wawa employees/ managers make fun of people with disabilities, but they also don't accommodate for their employees with disabilities. In fact, the old manager of this establishment expected an employee to still come to work after he had completely TOTALED his vehicle. Then proceeded to tell him she didn't want to see his car because she would feel bad. Just recently this same employee was threatened by a customer and Wawa didn't bother to listen to the employees' side of the story and forced him to resign. I understand there being reasons to force employees to resign and Virginia being an at will state, but there is absolutely no reason to discriminate against employees with disabilities or go against them when they are being harassed by customers. The only reason that nothing was ever said was because the employee was scared to lose his job. Unacceptable and...
