So thankful for this spot. It is truly what Viroqua needed, encompassed into one eatery.
Here is a review of each thing I have eaten so far...
Breakfast burrito: I subbed extra salsa verde for the chili mayo. I thought this was a great breakfast burrito for a great price. B+
Veg hash + I added bacon: best veg hash I've had, I appreciated that their we're several roasted veggies including radish, sweet potato, Brussels sprouts, potato and a green. The sourdough is bangin and the bacon was quality. A+
Patty Melt: very good, however I almost wish it was on their milk bun, but I guess it wouldn't be a patty melt then. B+
Thronebreaker: I got a combo of sausage and mushroom gravy which was a solid choice. Nice to have a southern breakfast in a small WI town. A+
Sausage Mr. Sandwich: can't go wrong here. Incredible. A+
Fancy chicken: my favorite thing thus far. The charred scallion aioli slaps and everything is just a good balance on this sandwich including the bread. A+
I heart M.Y.C: Another great sandwich. A+
Tuna melt: my partner cried. He said it was complete nostalgia for him and it was just how he imagined it. A+
Squash soup: my least favorite thing so far, but it doesn't mean I won't keep trying their soups. I can't really put my finger on why I didn't like it, so I won't give it a grade.
Cheddar broccoli soup: very good A
Potato salad: delish A
I can't rave about this place enough, I also can't stop...
Read moreThey were selling their food at the Rebecca Cooke/ Bernie Sanders rally 8/23. I ordered a meatless breakfast burrito which was clearly marked with a V on the foil wrapping. I took the sandwich to my seat, unwrapped and took a bite and tasted sausage! Not okay, I'm vegetarian, but I hoped it was plant based sausage. I went back to the booth. The woman who helped me wasn't there but I asked the other woman if they vegetarian one had plant based sausage. She said no so I told her I was given sausage in my meatless burrito. Instead of an apology, (I realize mistakes happen) she tells me they must not have heard me ask for meatless. I mention that the wrapping had a V on it. At this point she takes the wrapping and looks and says it's not marked which it clearly had been. It's very disappointing when a business makes a mistake, a pretty big one of you ask me, this could have been an allergy, not just a good choice, but instead of a sincere apology attempts to put the blame on the customer and gets defensive. Do better Maybe Lately. The correct sandwich was tasty but...
Read moreOur Airbnb host recommended this place for breakfast and now I can't recommend it enough. The staff seemed to be having a blast, smiles everywhere and very attentive to the customers. One sip of the coffee and wow, we were in the right place. Of course it didn't hurt they were playing some of my a favorite music and singing along sometimes. I felt I had died and went to portlandia. I ordered the Mr sandwich and a half order of French toast. My Cat wife ordered the Bill and Joe (if I remember right). She loved the pickled onions. All of which of course was amazing. I was extra hungry but that turned out to be more than enough food. So much attention to every aspect of our food, right down to the organic ketchup my kids needed for their hashbrowns. My extra picky kids enjoyed their food and we got to try a few other items from their plates when...
