Pizza & More — Restaurant in Vista

If you've ever walked past this place, like we did, and thought to yourself, "oh, just another pizza parlor."

I hate to tell you this but you're SO wrong! My people and I walked by the doors thinking what you thought until, one day, we decided to give it a shot. We were short on time and needed something fast so we got a couple slices and some drinks.

We were instantly hooked. The pizza was fantastic but we also found out they have SO MUCH MORE THAN PIZZA! (hence, the name, Pizza & More, we discovered.)

We started coming by during my wife's lunch because her work is close by. Lola made us feel right at home from the very beginning. She was always friendly and was extra with the service but, more than that, she talked to us like we were long time friends.

We started sampling the other items on their menu. It was the cioppino that hooked us. I asked for it with veggies instead of noodles and they were very accommodating. I'm not Italian at all, as far as I know, and this was how I imagined it would taste in your gramma's coastal Italian villa. I ate the entire thing! My wife and her other hubby had another one between them. We were flabbergasted with how delicious it was. So much so we went back the next day to have it again. And the day after that. And the day after that. This continued for about a week, then we went on vacation but as soon as we got home we went and got the cioppino again! (My mouth is watering as I write this).

Their chefs, Jair and Manolo, are freakin' amazing! They all remember our specific dietary restrictions and are very accommodating with our changes so we can eat their food. After working our way through their menu and the specials (which change frequently and keep us coming back for more) we began to make more and more outlandish requests and THEY NEVER TOLD US NO!

We even went to celebrate my wife's passing her nursing test and we asked ahead if we could do something really special. Enter 2 massive tomahawk steaks and fresh veggies! OMG they were beautiful. We found it hard to go back to our favorite steakhouse when one of my kids requested it for their birthday.

We go to Pizza & More quite frequently these days (sometimes 2+ times in one day) because the people are absolutely phenomenal, the food blows our mind every single time, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Sometimes we even ask the chef to surprise us and we've gotten something new and delectable each time. Every dish has been fit for royalty.

Do yourself a favor and stop walking past and go inside. You won't be disappointed. And if you're sitting there and you see something not on the menu being taken to a table of 3 adults (and sometimes a couple kids) who are experiencing a Pavlovian response in anticipation... that's probably us being extra.

Half way through my order and I just had to run and leave a review. I always leave honest reviews and I am always fair. We just recently moved to the area and saw all the food pictures and reviews and had to give it a try. I started off ordering a meatball Stromboli. First off it’s has very thin light tasty crust a perfect crust for a Stromboli the cheese meatballs and sauce is super tasty and good definitely taste like high quality ingredients. Big portions I shared with my Italian mom who’s very picky with her Italian food and she loved it said she would 100% order again. Not greasy either. Very very satisfied with this place so far! My only draw back is the restaurant itself is unbearably hot. The oven probably has something to do with it but should definitely have that AC pumping. I wouldn’t be able to sit and enjoy a meal with the heat. Also I usually never order from places that are extremely hot or have ac issues because I know the chefs sweat and yea I don’t. But this place definitely deserves a try! Other than that, the food so far is amazing and I will definitely be ordering again. Probably be a weekly place for me. Going to try their pasta next! Pizza and more is incredible. The food is outstanding. For the 3 of us we had 2 really nice salads, garlic knot, lobster ravioli. Spaghetti bolognese, capellini Mediterraneo, cheesecake and tiramisu. Everything was delicious.

Guy Fiari of restaurants, diners and dives highlighted Pizza and more recently with mouthwatering raves. They were also written up in the SD Tribune recently with high marks. So I was a little surprised when we went there on Fathers Day @ 6pm and it wasn’t packed. The only problems I saw were their location and name.

It is located in a strip mall in Vista way out on N Santa Fe when they really need to be in a happening spot in downtown Vista.

Pizza and more doesn’t nearly describe the incredible Italian entres on the menu. They also have specials like rabbit, quail, ossobucco and more. They really deserves a better name like Elevato which means elevated.

We will definitely order their pizza because it looked mouthwatering.

I just hope they can make some changes so everyone can enjoy their food and that they are as successful as...
