This review was left on my GrubHub order but I felt it necessary to post here as well:
If I could give a zero for this whole experience I would. The driver, Gabriel, deserves a 10/10 rating, but this Rubio's experience was horrible. When our food was ordered, it kept getting pushed back. Originally it was expected to be delivered at 8:45 PM at the latest, then it was pushed to 9:15, then 9:45-9:55. Once it was push to 9:15 I called into the restaurant to cancel since the app wouldn't let me. When I asked if it had been pushed back due to no one picking it up they said the order was just taking a long time to prepare. Although I cancelled and ordered pizza which came within 20 minutes, low and behold our order still delivered at 9:45. After fighting with a GrubHub representative for 45 minutes requesting a refund (which only seemed fair considering I canceled the order) they finally requested the issue be escalated. I did receive a text this morning saying I received a full refund so I thought this terrible experience was over. The food seemed okay, it just came 2 hours late, so one of the orders was eaten for lunch. While eating it, my friend found a DEAD BUG in the food!!! Definitely nauseating and I would HIGHLY suggest never ordering from this location ever unless you like receiving your food extremely late and...
Read moreWe have been coming to Rubio's for nearly 35 years and that was when they had only a handful of places in San Diego. We actually looked forward to 30 minute drive to get there and it was worth it! Since that time we have seen major additions to their menu, Pesky (fish mascot) come and go, many more locations and yet the food has stayed at a consistently high quality. It is made to order so it is fresh and Rubio's has done a masterful job of adding specialities such as lobster, mahi mahi, shrimp and other seafood to it's fish taco menu. We rarely, if ever, have a bad meal there, and it is one casual dining place we visit week in and week out. I usually go for one of the shrimp burritos while my spouse loves the lobster tacos. Some of their items are there only for a limited time and we were both saddened when the salmon tacos came out of the rotation. Having grown up elsewhere, we initially thought the concept of a fish taco was awful, so if you are hesitant about trying Rubio's for the first time, put your concerns aside and you will be glad you did! Highly...
