(Updated info below initial review) Rating is solely based on the fact that we drove up on the way through Waco and looked up the location via Google Maps. Hours showed open, but when we arrived it was closed. I added this picture to be helpful and include the hours of operation and phone number since it wasn’t listed in Google Maps. We arrived at 12:25 pm on a Wednesday and the food truck window was closed and nobody was sitting on the patio. Maybe they sold out? Looking forward to trying it in the future, love the patio and the food pics look delicious! — Updated review: owners reached out to mention they had some issues with google maps not accepting their updated hours. Totally understandable, I used to work in local marketing. They offered a chance to swing by and try their food later, so I will soon!

This might be the best BBQ I've ever had. That brisket was so tender! The chef was welcoming and had to explain "getchasum potatoes" to my slow-to-the-party self. (I was thinking it was a Korean flavoring until he said it out loud!) They sounded delicious, but they're smothered in cheese, which I just can't tolerate well so I went with the bean dishes, both excellent! The fried chicken was very good too. I'm not a fan of sitting outside, but they did have sunbrellas. While I'm a big eater, I couldn't finish this plate of food. That's something I basically never say. Based on what I saw people eating at the silos area and my own dining here, I think this place could be the best. The value alone is worth walking the 3 blocks from Silos to here.

Everything about this great little food truck was amazing! The owners were so nice, both chefs who left there jobs to collaborate on this food truck venture! So glad they did! Started with the brisket queso, just amazing! Had the burnt ends which are to die for. My son had a special brisket with crawfish cajun dish, I forget the name, but came with cajun rice and green beans. The service was great and it is in a great spot next to a whiskey bar. In an open area with plenty of seating, looks like they have live music there. I highly recommend if your looking for a great BBQ experience!

Moved to Texas a few years ago. When looking for a place to move I stopped in Waco Texas. I did the touristy Magnolia Silos visit but the whole time I kept smelling this amazing smell and on the walk back to the car my friends and I decided to find where the heavenly aroma was coming from. We found Backyard Bar and Grill and saw they had two menus. We looked at the Broken G menu and tried a bunch of things the Black N Gold mac and cheese is to die for. Since then Ive come in to grab that and I have even purchased containers of the Broken G BBQ sauce it is amazing. I think this the best BBQ i have had in the two years I have lived here in Texas and Ihave tried in total 15 different spots (from Dallas to San Antonio to Houston) this is the number one. We now live closer To Dallas but anytime were in Waco or someone mentions it I make sure to tell them about Broken G and the amazing black n gold...
