JDs Cafe — Restaurant in Waco

First time in - Lovely decor, spacious, and inviting. It presents as Fast/Casual but I didn’t experience the fast. A while after seating I was brought a water carafe and a glass that still had rinse in it. I toweled it dry at the table. I ordered a 3 egg omelette with Steak, cheese, spinach, and mushrooms. It took much longer than I would expect for an omelette. It was missing the spinach so I went back to the take away counter and asked for spinach on the side. After a few minutes I was informed that they were out of spinach. The mushroom in the omelette were in large chunks versus sliced thinly to allow for balance in each bite. Flavor was nicely done on the steak. There were only two things I discounted for atmosphere - 1) the large open air refrigerated case that was more than half empty and 2) the sound of mechanical alarms going.

If I were to come back I would only come for a coffee and pastry if I needed a nice space to have a chat with a friend or colleague. Not fast enough for frequent visits and no...

I highly recommend JD’s to anyone looking for a delicious, high-end coffee, healthy lunch or special pastries. This location is also convenient for a job interview meetup, business meetings over lunch, and for those just wanting to relax after a long day at work.

I was so grateful for the hospitality and kindness that I experienced at JD's today. I never post google reviews, but the team was so incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond that I wanted to put my experience to words. I had my 5 month old daughter and was just getting coffee and a snack while my wife was getting her nails done next door. The coffee was delicious, the team brought fries on the house, and they were so warm and gracious towards me having my 5 month old daughter. Their version of a strawberry poptart heated up was bomb. Also, my wife had lunch with a friend after her appointment. She's from Dallas and compared JD's to Flower Child which was her favorite restaurant in Dallas. Grateful and hope this place...
