This store has mostly old lady clothes, nothing really cute or pretty for women, and most of it is polyester. The Petites dept is 98% old lady clothes. The clothes on a mannequin are almost impossible to find, and it's also hard to find someone to help you find where those clothes might just be. The juniors dept also is mostly polyester or rayon, clothes that will fall apart quickly, and are flimsily made. Not a store I'm going to go in and see a lot of stuff that catches my eye (but when it does, I'll probably be looking for it for awhile). The Home dept is way overpriced so you have to wait for a sale and have a coupon before you purchase anything there, and it's cheaper and easier to just go ahead and buy it somewhere else. When they have a sale, the store is a complete mess, the fitting rooms are not cleaned out, and there is sure to be a screaming baby in there with a totally oblivious (and rude) mother, or a two year old crawling under your door (also with a rude mother). The cashiers are sometimes okay, and sometimes just plain unhelpful and couldn't care less about the customers. They need new buyers for this store, it's...
Read moreOk so time to break the news... I can be pretty darn frugal so I normally don't shop here. However on tax free weekend and during sales I'm a big fan! They have the best men's dress shirts(and ties), sexy women's shoes(ready for date night!), and preteen girl clothes. My husband has a hard time finding dress shirts that fit his long arms without looking like a nightgown. Their shirts are fantastic! Also, I wear a wide shoe and most places don't carry a very good selection. I was thrilled to see all of the super cute shoes available in a wide. Looks like I'll never wear tall boots again though. Please note: Apparently if you have wide foot they think you must be big all over. So my athletic calves are much too small to fill in the tall boots. Heartbreaking really... I love tall boots so much. I just find it to be odd because I've always been called "healthy" growing up because I had thick thighs and calves. I'm far from being a stick but still nothing that fits my body type in that style...
Read moreSaw 3 cashiers while I was shopping but could not find anyone to help me in mens clothing. I asked cashiers if since their was no one in the store except people to take your money if they could at least provide a me with a method to measure measure my neck for a proper dress shirt sizing (bet you could guess how that went) after 30 minutes of attempting to get help I left. (I NOW SEE WHY THIS COMPANY IS ON THE VERGE OF GOING UNDER) I walked Dillards and before I even got to the mens dept. I had been approached by 4 different employees asking if they could be of service. Once I arrived in mens dept. The gentleman there had a measuring line draped across his neck. From the time I entered Dillards until the time I exited (with several new dress shirts exactly measured for what I needed was less than 20 minutes). Haven't been to JC Penny in 10 years until yesterday and will probably not waste my time going back...
