So my husband went to wake up to go to home zone to look for a sound furniture when we asked the people there.Where was the best place to eat pizza? They said Papa rolo's, so we were like back. That's where we're gonna go eat for lunch.😛 so when we pull up the bsit in a little parking lot. But they have different art on the building. They have pictures from the movie 300, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin all eating pizza lol too funny. To add to it, they have the little rascals, the three stooges and sten and oliver from laura and hardy stained on the windows on the outside of the building. Very nostalgic invented the whole building😊 my type of place, so when you walk in the inside, everything is decorated so authentic. From the little horse that you could ride on when you were little used to b. E in front of grocery stores back in the day that you would put a quarter in and be ye hawing lol.🤠 They had a bumblegum machine on top of a Blast the Gollie pinball machine🤯 They also had games i saw 2 basketball hoop games. There was another pinball machine game and some other games to the left , but they were a lot of people sitting on that side. But a lot of stuff to keep you busy while you wait and after you eat. 😉 That was one side you could sit on the other side where we sat had the T. V that played 3 stooges the whole time. 🤣 Those guys didn't have any lick of sense🤣They also have an upstairs loft area where you can eat, and there's like little games for I would say from 2 to 5 year olds to play with and keep busy while you wait on your pizza. Also, all over the building, they have different vintage signs and sands and pictures of art. But the coolest thing I thought was. We had to go to the restroom to wash our hands, and you have to walk down this little hall. And then there's this brick wall that you have to push, and then it goes into a hole. Another other freaking big room. I was like, wow. 🤯 So when we went in, there was probably a birthday party🥳 going on, but that room was huge also. Connected to that was the bathrooms, but this place had little hidden gems everywhere you turned around.😀 So before we got to where the bathroom was, Isaac, our server, got our drinks. I ordered a pink lemonade, and my husband got a Sprite, and they were on the table when we returned. When we came back, he told us a little bit about the pizza and the about the history of Poppa Roll's and that he thought not just because he were there that they had the best pizza but like I told him we heard that also at the furniture store. 🙌 He also try to offer us some wings. But we weren't in the mood for wings. We really just wanted to taste the pizza. But he said the wings are also good. They're not small. They're big so we will probably try those the next time we come in☺️ We ordered our pizza that had everything on it. I think it was called the works, and please forgive me. I took a picture of the menu, but I forgot to take the picture of that one freaking page🤦♀️ I did take pictures of the pizza and man.😋 Let me tell you when that pizza came out. It looked so good. One thing I really liked about the pizza was that it wasn't very saucy because some pizza places put a lot of red sauce or tomato sauce on the pizza.😵💫 I do have to say it is one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. 😋 So kudos to you, Papa Rollo's.Ya'll have the number one title🏆🏅🎉🎊 Thank you, Isaac, for being a great server until...
Read moreOkay so please please please do not judge this book by its cover ... Which is not bad but in no way reflects the total experience of this pizza parlor. From the second I stepped in the door I was great by the attentive staff. I was eating solo on a Tuesday lunch so I chose to eat at the bar. Just short of entering the bar the courteous Wade staff stop and pointed and said the bars in there. This is whenever my adventure started. Never in my life have I been to a bar/restaurant here in Texas that was quite like this one. I've been to places like this in New York and New Jersey but not here.
Start with you can see the owners are obviously very patriotic. They have family members who served have flags in the wall they have important people throughout history with her quotes. Everywhere that you look there's something to read or to look at. It's almost like your senses go into overload trying to take in every small detail of the joint. I will say this if I lived in this town I would be here several times a week. Not only do they have a small bar that is away from the main restaurant but there is plenty of seating and what I can tell they have a building out back for large parties I don't know if it's as cool as the restaurant, however I can't imagine it not. I had the Hawaiian pizza a half picture of beer and lunch salad. Thesalad was a very good portion of lettuce with a homemade ranch dressing. Good stuff!!!!!! The pizzas come out perfect one of the better Hawaiian pizzas I've ever eaten. After I finish the small pizza I wish I had gotten a medium because it was that good.
This restaurant was a very pleasant which surprised me. I can't help but give it for the five star rating all the way restaurant was clean and had a certain ambience that I haven't seen in any restaurants here in Texas, New York I've seen it but not in Texas. From humorous signs on the wall to the reindeer wearing Santa's hat to Old world war II model planes hanging from the ceiling Tiffany light fixture in the bar or propellers off airplanes, military helmets you name it it's all here ....... quotes from Stephen F Austin, David Crockett it doesn't matter every which way you look there's something to look at. It's kid friendly for the game rooms. It's a place a teenager can take date for dinner reasonably priced items. . It's a place an adult can go and have sandwiches or pizza sit in the dark corner and get to know if their new acquaintance while having a cocktail or a married couple just needing to get out. So from the front door to the old world bar back in the corner to the old movie in arcade from the hdtv's sports to the dark corners to the speak easy entrances. I love the place. My waitress I believe her name was Haley thank you so much for curious wait service and. information about local places to visit. For the owner tell your family members thank you for their service and thank you for yours. I thoroughly enjoyed my short experience here with you guys. GREAT...
Read moreOur oldest son was able to come home for a visit on Saturday, June 24, for the first time since Christmas. My wife, our youngest son and his girlfriend, and I wanted to share some relaxing family time with him, and we all agreed to purchase Cinemark movie tickets for a showing at 3:40 p.m., preceded by a relaxing meal and time to socialize at Poppa Rollo's Pizza on Valley Mills Boulevard. We arrived at Poppa Rollo's at 12:50 and secured a comfortable table in the bar area by 1:00. Within five minutes, our server had taken our relatively straightforward order which included just one Giant pizza plus three waters and two sodas. Though we weren't pressured for time and had enjoyed rich conversation for one solid hour without further interaction with our server, my wife left the bar area at 2:00 and went to the front of the restaurant to speak with an exceptionally nice manager. The manager apologized for our long wait and cited how Poppa Rollo's had just one guy cooking in the back that afternoon. She said she would send complimentary salads to our table while we continued waiting. The server, who had a personality roughly equivalent to a bottle cap, delivered our salads by 2:10 along with a message saying "It'll be about thirty more minutes for your pizza." There was no apology nor any offer to refill our drinks for the first time in one hour and ten minutes -- just a stone-faced "I don't care if you're here or not" vibe. After observing how others in the bar area had been served in a much more timely manner, we concluded that our server had made a mistake at some point. Perhaps she failed to submit our order for just one pizza to the kitchen altogether. By 2:40, we still had no signs of pizza coming to our table, no drink refills, and no apologies from the server. We left the establishment and decided to grab plenty of snacks at the movies that would hold us 'till dinner time. Though we had left plenty of cash on the table to cover our sodas and taxes, our oldest son felt badly about leaving without telling anyone, so he walked back into the restaurant to purposefully find the server and let her know we were leaving. When he found her, she still offered no apology for our one hour and forty minute wait for pizza. Instead, she said "Your pizza is ready now. Does your family want it or do you want me to cancel the order?" Following the movies, we ordered Marco's Pizza which was delivered hot to our home (fifteen-to-twenty minutes from their establishment) within thirty minutes. I'll be sixty-two years of age in August, and while I write reviews regularly, this is my very first totally negative review ever. I've also never sent a steak back to a kitchen when it isn't cooked to my taste and I've never complained to a manager in a food establishment about anything. I've been in the Waco area for seventeen years, and I've just never seen anything akin to the pathetic service we received at Poppa Rollo's on June 24th. This was surprising and...
