The Burger Shop — Restaurant in Wake Forest

The food is good. In fact it taste similar to Five Guys, which is my most favorite burger joint. However what makes me give it 2 Stars is the wait time and the price.

For waits I understand that sometimes it get busy but waiting for your food in a burger joint for 30 minutes is not common. Ordering the food is also unusual because I got confused from the setup. When I see a stand right in front of me I expect to order there instead from a small hole in the wall. People go in and out from there to order and get refills from the soda fountain. Felt really crowded especially when it's busy.

Now for the price. I got the double cheese burger and large fries with a drink. Yes it is a big order and I expect at least a 10 dollar price tag. But tell me is 18 dollars a pretty ridiculous price or am I overreacting? I can get 2 great meals from East Coast Wings for 14 dollars plus tip. Why on earth do I go to The Burger shop when I can get double the food for the same price. When I saw the price tag I expected the best ingredients in that burger.

It was good but if you had a okay burger before then it's nothing special compared to the burger I ordered. Plus the bun had a consistency of the cheapest buns you get from Food Lion. Fell apart instantly when I took the first bite. Have better buns if you are changing me more and a tooth pick goes a long way. Toothpicks shows that you care about the burger and the customer. Really handy if I want to put it down and take a drink without it falling apart. I don't want to eat half the burger and the rest of it to fall on the wrapper.

So yeah I don't recommend coming to this place. If you want good burgers with a good price tag go to East Coast Wings.

When I make a review I do it because I had a great experience or if I did not had a good experience. I will say to the owners I am willing to give them another chance. Maybe I went in at a bad time or maybe I ordered incorrectly, who knows. But I cannot make a recommendation to your restaurant. If you can improve/comment on a secret way to get a better price then I would...

In town visiting family, and we were looking for someplace different - something local and GOOD. My brother suggested this place stating that they have amazing burgers. We walked in and I was instantly impressed with the quaint feel and the wonderful atmosphere. I ordered my cheeseburger with all the fixings, my wife got only mayonnaise and lettuce. The toppings were in PERFECT proportion to the burger... so much so, that even though I got so much stuff on mine, I lost virtually nothing and made no mess. The portion size of the fries is VERY generous, so we were able to share a large fry (and still have some leftover). This burger was all that it was hyped up to be. Delicious, juicy, perfect size. It appeared kind of small at first glance, but it was very filling. The fries were cooked to perfection and were seasoned extremely well - hot and fresh! I opted for the orangeade, per recommendation, and my wife indulged with a vanilla shake. Both were also every bit as good as promised. This was an EXCELLENT experience at one of Wake Forest's greatest gems. Whether you are a local or just visiting, you absolutely MUST treat yourself to a meal...

OMG, where do I start with this place...how about the customer service?!?! This restaurant has some pretty sneaky workers. What I mean by that is, even if the food sucked, I'd still be back because of the amazing customer service! This was our first visit there, and they made us feel so welcome! I even enjoyed waiting for our food to be made. On to the food... This is by far the best burger joint in town! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly grilled...and GINORMOUS! I hadn't eaten all day, so I was pretty hungry. I saw a regular cheeseburger on the menu and I also saw a double cheeseburger, so of course I got the double cheeseburger...OMG! That burger was huge! It was super delicious, seasoned well, and juicy. Also they give you tons of fries! Even the small fry is big. My husband got the cod plate. It was so cute because the cashier teased him about getting fish his first time at a burger joint. He absolutely loved that cod! I wanted to take pictures, but we started eating as soon as we got our hands on these delectable dishes! We will DEFINITELY be back soon, and time...
