Wei's Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Wakefield

Food was fresh but bland. I got the vegetable fried rice and the vegetarian delight with tofu which says it’s in a “garlic sauce”…however I did not taste the garlic. The service was slow and the server did not seem familiar with the menu. She also did not check on us after we got our food. The atmosphere was the worst. So bad I wanted to leave. The place is small I think 6 booths on one side and the other side is a small bar. The “regulars” at the bar were VERY loud/cursing just in their regular conversation. Also, my booth shook every time the woman behind me moved; it was very annoying. Side note: I know it’s not the restaurant’s fault but the couple behind me were also loud and cursing in their regular conversation as well. I have a shellfish allergy and this fact was not made clear on the online ordering menu (toast; the website mentions shrimp if you go to the menu section but in my experience spring rolls are usually vegetarian and the online ordering system does not mention anything about shrimp hence why I ordered them). Thankfully my wife, who is vegetarian, bit into hers first or I would be writing this review from the emergency room. She was grossed out but otherwise okay.

PLEASE MAKE A NOTE ON THE TOAST MENU THAT THE SPRING ROLLS ARE NOT VEGETARIAN AND CONTAIN SHRIMP!!!

We ordered takeout on New Year’s Eve and had the easiest experience with them. Yes it was chaotic and confusing. But the staff was getting yelled at by entitled people the entire time I stood there waiting. Everyone knows that if your ordering Chinese food on New Years Eve that you have to order early and the staff does their best estimating. But I never expect it to be out on time due to the influx of orders. Customers were rude to the staff and each other. Cutting in line and yelling. Staff was great.
