I absolutely love this place. I'm definitely not a sushi connoisseur, but it is some of the best sushi I have had. What makes it so good also is the creativity put into it.
The place is located in a tiny strip mall in the south end of New Milford by the post office. Be careful driving in that lot though because it's loaded with potholes. The place is small also with about 4 seats at the sushi bar and maybe 10 tables in the restaurant. It's super clean the beautiful inside though.
I always go for lunch so I never spend more than $10, but what I've had has been outstanding!
Kimchi Tofu Soup ($2): simple yet so tasty! I order this almost every time I go. Not spicy though. I don't think they add any spice besides the already seasoned kimchi. It literally just has broth, kimchi, and little cubes of tofu in it.
Miso Soup ($1.50): traditional and delicious as expected. No complaints.
Wonton Soup ($2): this is the best Wonton Soup I've ever had! The wonton wrappers are super thin and the broth is amazing. Garlicky goodness!
Sweet Potato Roll (seaweed outside) ($2): another thing I have to get almost every single time. I love these because you get the sweet from the potato, the salty from the soy sauce and seaweed, then the spice from the wasabi. Divine!
California Roll ($4): standard California roll. Delicious.
Shrimp Tempura Crunchy Roll ($7): had this my last visit and it's amazing! Shrimp Tempura and cucumbers wrapped in seaweed with the rice on the outside, drizzled with spicy mayo, then topped with fizzled crunchy onions and tempura cruchies! I can't wait to try the other crunchy rolls! Amazing!
Bamboo Roll with Tuna ($7): tuna (can get eel or salmon) with cucumber, wrapped in seaweed, rice outside, topped with avocado. So fresh and yummy!
Japanese Rice bowl with Vegetable Tempura, Egg, and onions ($7): delicious as well! Personally I needed more so I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with it, but I'm a pig. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Ask for the spicy dumpling sauce to drizzle on it. Makes it even better!
As you can see, the prices are outstanding! You can get a lot for $10 at lunch.
Please check this place out and support them. Family owned. Nin, the wife is SUPER sweet too.
The only real negative is that they don't deliver. Maybe they'll start with Uber Eats though.
Also, even though not a huge negative, they get busy. Really busy weekend nights. Always call in your orders (even at lunch). Great food takes time to make! They will call you when it's ready. Usually I order from my office in Hackensack and she quotes 10-15 minutes. I always get the call as...
Read moreWe are local but never stopped in before. My wife and I, one daughter and her fiance came in during the week between Christmas and New Years. No one was sitting down but it was a little early and there was a lot of take out order activity the entire time we were there.
Three of us ordered a total of 8 different rolls and some rice/noodles for my wife . I has the Crunchy Tempura Shrimp roll and the Cream Cheese roll with crab and I would order both again. Everyone enjoyed their selections and other then the noodles and rice, our plates were clean. My wife took what remained for her noodles and rice home as leftovers. We also ordered the Thai Donut to share for desert, based on other reviewers suggestions, and it was really good.
Towards the end of our meal, another 2 groups came in and sat down so we weren't the only ones sitting down to eat. We will come back for sure to get items we liked and try out...
Read moreAMAZING food. I'm not a huge teriyaki fan but I tried my boyfriend's teriyaki chicken with rice which was AMAZING and had some smokey flavor to it. Tasted home made, not at all like Panda Express. I got a plate of 8 California rolls ($5) & the udon noodle bowl. The guy at the counter makes the sushi as you order, and he's very friendly so feel free to ask for tweaks in your sushi if you want. Our waitress and the hostess were extremely friendly and accommodating, they explained certain dishes before we even asked about them. Food portions were enough to make you perfectly full. Free bottle of cucumber & lemon water for the table. Also had fried ice cream and the overall bill came out to only $22. Already looking forward to...
