Virile Barber & Shop — Local services in Waldwick

My son goes here when he is home from college, and took me with him recently since we were shopping afterwards. He received a great cut from Nicollete. She listened to him and suggest what will work to make him happy with his haircut. Good customer service by all employees. They are focused on their clients haircuts. In my opinion they need to step it up... offer customers something to drink/snack when they arrive, keep the place CLEAN at all times - it's very dusty everywhere, the throw rug has never seen a vacuum, the hardwood floors are nice but they go unnoticed because it needs to be swept all day, everyday and mopped at least once a day, all the barbers shake the cover-up that goes on each client instead of getting a clean one... how can you not get a clean one? Sorry that is gross. Makes me wonder what else is not clean. One of the barbers keeps his area very clean, and all his equipment. If all barbers, especially the owner took a note from him the place would be a 5 star barber shop. The owner should take more responsibility/ownership/pride in...

This place is simply an EXPERIENCE and you just don't see these kinds of barber shops often anymore! Adam, Kevin and Andre are the real deal. I found this place in an issue of Mean's Health magazine and have been going there for the past year. My cuts ALWAYS come out the way I want it and I've never been disappointed. The price is VERY reasonable for how these guys treat you.

The place is clean, eclectic, and all around a great place for a guy to get away for an hour or so to just relax. They offer some great drinks while you wait (or even while you're taken care of). I personally have not done this but I think I'll treat myself the next time I go.

If I have to find a negative about this place...it would be that I have to drive about 30 minutes to Virile. It's so worth it though. Treat yourself to a Two Bit the next time...

So there are barber shops then there is Virile. This is a place where gentlemen come to get their hair cut and their beards trimmed. After many failed attempts to get into the Jersey City location I decided to call for an appointment at this location. I showed up and immediately was met by a lovely receptionist who promptly served me a bourbon on the rocks. The waiting area is could use some more vintage couches but the back area behind reception is very nicely done. The barbers are dressed neat and professional. Anthony cut my hair and trimmed my beard. He was outstanding. The whole atmosphere and charm of this place will ensure I keep coming back even if the prices are a little streep. It is very well worth it. I have to say this place is Aces. And I don't give that out too often...
