Google still lists The Watershed as a comfort food spot with burgers and lobster rolls, but under new ownership it now serves Mexican food — first surprise of the night. Although only two other tables were occupied on the patio and the indoor dining room was basically empty, we sat through 40-minute waits, a missing entrée, and a mandatory 20 % “large-party” surcharge even after staff split us across three tables they claimed couldn’t be pushed together.
What went wrong: Misleading menu – Online profile shows lobster rolls, crab cakes, burgers, and more; the on-site menu is Mexican. Separated seating – Staff insisted patio tables couldn’t be moved, so our group was spread across three separate tables. Long ticket times – 40 minutes from appetizer to entrées despite a nearly empty restaurant. Wrong side, no replacement – Father’s dish arrived with chips instead of fries. The server removed his plate, served it to someone else, then came back later and said the kitchen had run out of the entrée. No substitute, no drink – He reordered a different meal (never arrived) and even a simple shot of tequila (also never arrived). Automatic 20% fee – Large-party charge applied even though we were split up. When we asked to waive it after all the issues, the lead waitress/manager grew defensive and said it was “policy” on a “busy Friday night.”
What was good: Chips, salsa, appetizers, and the entrées that did arrive were genuinely tasty.
Bottom line: We bypassed a higher-rated restaurant two blocks away to support another local spot and left hungry, frustrated, and up-charged. Until management updates their online listing, allows reasonable seating for groups, and rethinks that automatic fee, I can’t recommend The Watershed — especially for...
Read moreI rarely leave less than a 5 star but as a private and hobby me doing reviews to help others get best experiences possible. This restaurant /bar has so much potential: and it's sad to not see it be as good as it could be. I will revisit in random future to give chance to gwt better and updated review.
Positives on this place are most importantly the staff at the front of the bar and in kitchen. Sarah was our server and bar tender and tabs helper. Sarah did a great job doing that. She also has a great customer service approach and is on top of her skills. Cool games to play while there like plays, darts, e tabs, claw game, and mucis box to pump money into to fwt your favorite songs played while you enjoy your time here... The 90% of the food that came out was correct by kitchen and Server and was good quality.
Cons of this place and areas of improvement: Fix tv's, kitchen cook repairs meat patty to order spec and not raw (supposed to be medium well), cook in back helps more in front if house if no food orders are in at time and requires their...
Read moreBleh. We went for lunch, ordered the pretzel bites as an app. They did taste good, however the price tag of $11 for 8 pieces of pretzel, was somewhat ridiculous.
My husband ordered the kimchi burger and I ordered the patty melt. My husband, said his tasted okay, but wasn’t amazing by any stretch and had “a weird taste that just isn’t sitting right”.
Mine? ….I don’t have anything good to say about it. It was supposed to have pork and turkey on a burger patty on Texas toast with cheese sauce and bbq. Sounds great right? I got a cheesy smothered burger patty on dry bread. …there was no melt. No turkey. No pork.
I really wanted to like it, but $15 for something I could only eat 2 bites of before giving up is upsetting.
$55 for 2 burgers and pretzel bites is the definition of “tourist pricing”.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place, there are better places with way better food for much less, in walking distance of here.
We did tip 15% to the waitress as it wasn’t her fault the...
