Frankies — Restaurant in Wallingford

** Update: I went back to Frankie's today, they made up the meals again at no charge. Very good. Completely different from what we received last week. Guess I won't be using an app to order food ever again! Thank you for rectifying the situation.

I bragged about Frankie's to a couple of employees and we decided to order from the Wallingford Frankie's. Fish Sandwiches, Clam Strips, 3 orders of fries. First, the Fish Sandwich was nothing to brag about, basic over fried fish, same with the strips, over cooked. Now the fries, 3 orders, all of them undercooked and sogged with grease. I called and was told because I placed the order online, to pick up, they have nothing to do with it. I explained that I was given a time to pick them up and came at that time. Same answer, we have nothing to do with it. So who cooks the food? I then was asked, "so you are calling about fries?", we paid for them didn't we. I was then told, I could not get credit but if I want 3 more orders to come down or come another day and ask for a manager, tell him what happened and have him give you free fries. Well, that won't be happening, we all feel sick after eating just a few of the fries. They lost our company's business. Too bad, I have gone to many other Frankie franchises and never...

I haven't eaten at Frankie's, Wallingford since they've changed hands. Unfortunately, I will not be eating here again. This is NOT the same Frankie's that I last ate at a few months ago. Being a regular customer, I can say that the hot dogs now are not a mild flavor. They now have a more seasoned or "spicier" flavor. The buns are not the same either. Also apparently there is no outdoor pickup window. The button to push is still at the window to alert staff you are there to pick up your order. Well, either they either ignored me or they disconnected the bell because no one ever came to the window to greet me.. They just kept talking to each other other behind the counter. Also, before, the original owners would have the inside of the restaurant spotless. I wanted to add relish to my hot dog and decided not to because the condiment station was a mess. Relish and mustard drops all over the station. I should have known to stay away when I saw the exterior of the building was completely painted over to one boring color, thus getting rid of all the painting of the Frankie cartoon characters that made the place stand out and whimsical. This place looks as boring as the food tastes. So...

Hot dogs and burgers are ok. Very disappointed in the seafood, especially the seafood combo. Poor quality and very small portions. It was a take out order and they didn’t prep all the condiments for me, I had to fill up a bunch of tiny containers after I got my order and the sauerkraut is kept cold. Staff seems young, inexperienced, and doesn’t seem to care.

In response to the owner …. I am not a competitor or in the food service industry. I am an unhappy customer that wrote a bad review from a bad experience. The picture is what was given to me by your employees. Please read my criticism and correct the problems. Please heat the sauerkraut as well. Please do not accuse me of being competition and putting up a fake photo. If I was supposed to get double of what was shown then please show this to your employees and let them know the portion I received was wrong.
