Angelo's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Wallington

This is what I get for trying to support a new local business since my usual place had closed for the evening. I've gotten pizza from here a few times before since they have a variety. I liked that the crust was a little thicker to accommodate the toppings. Most places have thinner crust specialty pizzas that collapse under the weight of the toppings.

Ordered chicken parm tonight. Asked for vodka sauce. He asked if I wanted red sauce on the pasta; I said vodka is fine. Was told 15 mins and hung up. Most places tell you your total but I didn't think anything of it. Here's where I am having a hard time understanding what happened. A chicken parm dinner has the chicken and pasta under one price. Apparently ordering vodka sauce for the 2 components lands you 2 separate add-on charges for both the chicken and pasta. As a restaurant owner, I feel like it's common sense to let your customer know their sauce request is going to add a charge that's 40% of the original menu item cost ($3 for the pasta, $2.50 for the chicken because he did me some sort of favor?). I have no problem paying for what I ordered but give me a head's up and be reasonable. When I asked about the extra charge and said I wasn't told I would think the reasonable response would be at least an apology but just a blank stare.

As for the food, the chicken was soggy and dry because it was drowning in sauce. Pasta also drowning in sauce.

What a nightmare!! I ordered online for delivery and they took almost 1.5 hours to deliver it. I called them at the 40 minute mark asking for an update on the delivery since I live only 10 minutes away, they said that the delivery driver left with the food about 10 minutes ago and since I live a bit far, they will be there soon. I informed the worker that I only live about 10 mins away, but told him that I understood. 20 minutes passed and I called again. He called the delivery driver and again told me that since I live "so far, about 15 minutes away" it is taking a little long. Again, I informed him that I only live 10 minutes away and that he told me the delivery driver left about 30 minutes ago so even if I lived an entire 15 minutes away according to him, the delivery driver should have still already gotten here by now. He apologized and told me that the delivery driver said hes 5 minutes away and that I should get the food any minute now. THE DELIVERY TOOK ANOTHER 20 MINUTES AND ARRIVED COLD!!!

If the food was worth the wait, I wouldnt have left a bad review, but not only was the food cold, but the pizza was soggy, tough, and super bland. The wings were overcooked and incredibly dry. I'm a firm believer that it's almost impossible to mess up pizza and wings. Apparently, its possible. DO...

If I could give less then one star I would. I ordered their $28.00 dollar special. I noticed a couple of days later that I was overcharged by at least $7.00. I called and spoke to the girl who answered the phone and she looked it up and confirmed the overcharge and said she would speak to management and call me back to let me know if they would credit my card or give me a credit on my next order. After about 3 weeks and not hearing from anyone I called back and asked to speak to a manager. After explaining what happen the man on the phone proceeded to tell me that it was not an overcharge it was a charge for the sauce the comes with the garlic knots. I told him that I have ordered there several times including the specials and never had an extra charge for sauce that came with a dish I already paid for. He insisted and refused the refund. Now understand this is not so much about the money as it is about the integrity of the people and they way they run their business.
