Lalo's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Walnut Ridge

Easily the best Mexican food I have ever had, and I have lived + traveled in areas where quality (and legit) Mexican food is plentiful.

NOTE: this is a food truck. Easily identifiable when you drive up (but it's not yet on street view).

Pineapple fajitas should be more prominent on (stateside) Mexican restaurant menus. It was essentially Al Pastor fajitas, but with chicken instead of pork. It was perfectly seasoned, and the portions were giant. One container had just the Pineapple Fajitas. The other container (larger) had the rice, beans, and salad (and generous portions of each).

The person taking our order was delightful. She helpfully described our salsa and tortilla options to ensure we chose our preferred options for our orders (my wife ordered the shrimp fajitas). With such a bubbly personality, she was the best choice to be the one taking customers orders.

Also the price is extremely reasonable for our orders + portion sizes.

We stopped here for lunch while on a cross country road trip. (It is also clearly popular with locals as there was a steady stream of locals while we waited for our food.) However, any chance I have to stop here on future trips, I will make...

I went with my mother to get food here, except I didn't get my food here. We stopped by to get my mother's food. She loves it here. Lalo and the gang are always nice, respectful, and helpful. I went here a couple months back with a friend who was new to the area and my friend (who might just be a little impatient) got tired of waiting the 5 minutes after she placed her order and left in annoyance. I apologized for her behavior and left with her. Lalo personally brought her food to my mother at her work and I gave it to her when she got home. She had already paid for it, just annoyed with others coming and going before her thinking she was being skipped over. That can actually happen if you go to the food truck and order, others can and will come to pick up their food and leave before you get yours. Great Mexican food. I ate on site at this food truck because of the high reviews on Google maps and was blown away by how many call in orders were picked up while I was eating. Food is good and clearly the locals know it! And they are repeat customers too because they recognized I think everyone that came up to pick up an order while I was there. Wouldn’t be surprised if these folks move into an actual “brick & mortar” location at some point soon (that’s why I gave them 4 stars on atmosphere, they need an indoors!) 😁. I wish them...
