Asia Wok — Restaurant in Waltham

The food didn't really stand out more than just another casual Chinese takeout spot. But their business hours and the fact that a hard hitting late night munchie after "forgetting" to eat the whole day with an empty fridge led me here - I'll bump them up to 4 stars.

I'll be honest when I say that I found it rather weird walking into an establishment empty of customers and a full amount of staff behind the counters (5 in the kitchen, 3 up front). I tried to order from their kiosk, which didn't work, so ended up still having to chat with the kid at the counter who looked away the whole time while speaking under his breath. A little confused and very hungry, I finally asked him to recommend a tofu dish he'd eat...and he literally without a blink of an eye starts naming all the tofu dishes off the menu. Lol. Ok, here we go.

It's probably hunger hitting hard and the sugar dipping too low that I finally just ordered away. Food came out really fast (note number of staff in kitchen; plus, it's a Chinese kitchen...with that number of staff), packed nicely and got me back on the road home. I didn't think twice as I ripped into the bag seeking hunger reprieve.

Tofu with bamboo shoots? Ooh, not bad. Beef with Snow Peas? Tastes good except for the part that you over slurried it...total noob mistake. House fried rice? Let's just say Uncle Roger won't roast you.

Will I be back? Maybe. But only when that late night munchie hits again and I've got nothing in the fridge to...

I ordered delivery a few nights ago and the food tasted exceptional however the delivery experience was very poor. Apparently they only had one driver and from when I ordered until when I got the food in my hand it was about 2 hours. The driver apparently could not find my location and never called me until I asked the restaurant repeatedly to call him to have him call me. I ended up trying to instruct the driver how to get to my house however he did not understand and he was at LaSalle college which was some distance away. I told the driver to meet me at a common location Tom's Pizza in auburndale and I got in my car and met the driver there to pick up the food. Kind of defeating the purpose of delivery cuz I had to pick up the food from the driver. Other than that the general gau bean curd was tasty and included vegetables and pineapple and also the chicken lo mein had a decent amount of chicken and noodles and the boneless spareribs tasted okay but slightly overdone. My friend enjoyed his general gau chicken with pork fried rice. The scallion pancakes that came with my dinner were tender and not well done and to my liking as were the crab rangoon. We made a large order on New Year’s Eve at 6pm. Given that it is a busy night, we ordered ahead of time (for our party) and were told that this order would take 1 hour and 15 minutes. We arrive at the restaurant to pick up our food at 7:10pm and when we get there, it is packed and unorganized. It takes us about 15 minutes to just pay for our order and we notice that the order numbers are all out of place. After about 30 minutes from paying, we went up to the counter to request an estimated wait time, and were notified that the ticket with our order had been lost. Another 30 minutes go by and we are told that our order is being packed. It takes another 20 minutes to pack our order and for us to...
