Peshawri is the type of place you will see people from the same ethnicity there enjoying the food. It's authentic, genuine, and delicious.
They do a great job in spice and seasonings where it's not too much and complex but it's enough where it's a zing and zap of flavor that stays.
Order List 6pc Chapli Mix plate w/rice and small salad Chicken Tikka Role Up Chicken Kofta Kabab Role Up Kheer Chai Chicken Kharai Naan Mango & Banana smoothie
6pc Chapli with spicy rice was a $40 bomb of a deal. My previous experience with their Chapli kabobs was better because I am pretty sure they made the kabobs literally bigger back then but inflation I guess. STILL! it's a bomb deal with the kabobs you get, rice, and chutney which is worth the price if you want more of since its actually good. The beef was better a year back but this time I enjoyed the chicken kabobs quite a bit. The rice was good, it was flavored is all and the salad was a small container of mixed lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and a tomatoe slice or two. Two chutney's a spicy mint corriender and a white sauce you'd find often on top of a halal guys plates which I think is sour cream, milk, Italian seasonings, and salt + pepper. White sauce good with fries and wraps especially for kids.
Chicken Kharai is given in a small to go container and the amount isn't a lot to be very blunt especially for the price of $18. (enough for literally one person if you like it). If you want to try I recommend the Nihari. Now albiet the price and quantity is small the flavor is much more, it was actually really good and I ordered the Chapli kabobs but ended up enjoying the Kharai more than I had imagined. Spiced well, chicken cooked right, not an outrageous amount of oil just a bit, and in all it comes with Naan or rice but I got Naan so it was great. Soaked up the flavor and melted in my mouth. Would recommend if you've never tried Kharai before and like spice.
Naan, just get it. $3 bucks and it's fun to eat with most of the foods you get. Slap some $.50 chutney on it and enjoy.
Mango & Banana smoothie was... Juice. It's 20oz and I think $5.50. Its fresh so that's really great. This specific one tasted more of banana then of mangoes but I'm happy as good mangoes are expensive and for the price some sweetness from mango was enough.
Chai is spiced. It's cooked in simple spices and from my parents reaction it was great as a after meal cool down drink. Not on the menu but they might just have it so ask if you want some.
Kheer (Pakistani Rice Pudding) is 8oz = 6.95 which isn't bad it's thick like pudding and has a sweetness. It is another dish where the milk is cooked in spices and then cooked with rice until it becomes pudding. Was a fun little treat but could not finish it by myself.
Gyro/Roll-up, let them know which one you want because there is a difference in bread from a gyro and roll-up which isn't specified.
The chicken Tikka Roll-up and Kofta Kabob Roll-up were good. Tikka is small chicken cubes marinated in Tikka masala (red one) and cooked in a grill while the Kofta kabobs are minced meat which is spiced and wrapped around a skewer and cooked on a grill. Both tasted good with the Kofta being a bit more flavored since it's literally minced with spices. Would highly recommend getting the $.50 chutney's to dip or pour onto your Roll-up or Gyro.
The staff is humble, kind, and they work hard which was shown by the amount of care they took keeping the restaurant clean and happiness when you enjoy the food and let them know. I appreciated their help and kindness to just random people, in MA it has been reaching upward of 90°F. They have a cooler to help people out so they are being genuine.
I look forward to...
Read moreI was traveling from New York to Boston for a business meeting and thought I'd check out some desi spots. This place had good reviews, so I gave it a shot, big mistake.
Even on a Saturday night, they were severely understaffed. Only 2 workers were taking orders AND also they were serving food, and they kept disappearing for several minutes between taking customer’s orders. It took me at least 10 minutes just to place an order, absolutely ridiculous.
After that struggle, I ordered Lamb Shank Biryani and Lamb Tikka. Now comes the never-ending wait. 45-50 minutes to get my food, what are they doing back there? Raising the lamb themselves?
Now, here’s where it gets worse. I took one bite of the so-called "Biryani" and was shocked. As a desi guy from New York, I know what Biryani is supposed to taste like, and this was not it at all. It was literally just plain white rice, ZERO spices, ZERO flavor, just bland, overpriced garbage. And this is what they're charging the Boston people in the name of Biriyani? Y’all are really out here paying $28-$30 for tasteless rice and calling it Biryani? Boston People, please Do yourselves a favor and take a trip to New York—you’ll get real Biriyani for a third of the price. This was an absolute joke.
The Lamb Tikka was another disappointment. The menu says 8 pieces, but I got 5-6 tiny, sad-looking pieces that looked nothing like the picture. Straight-up false advertising.
Honestly, this place deserves 1 star, but I gave them 2 stars because the Lamb Shank itself actually tasted good, not gonna lie.
Bottom line: If you enjoy waiting an hour for overpriced, flavorless food, go ahead. Otherwise, don’t waste your time or money here. I wouldn’t go back even if...
Read moreMy husband Omer and I are traveling with our son from Chicago and came across this place based on reviews. I definitely recommend to come here! We got the chapli kabobs both beef and chicken. Both were delicious, I personally liked beef better. We also got chicken tikka Botis over biryani rice. Everything was so good, and not extremely spicy- which was amazing because my son ate the food as well. I personally spoke to who was helping us, Mehmood. I saw him taking orders, bringing food out, cleaning tables, taking the trash out, and checking up on us to make sure food was up to par. I highly recommend this restaurant for the taste of the food, cleanliness, and also the service we received. It was beyond my expectations. I also had the shahi kulfi and kheer for dessert, and it was great! You can’t go wrong with malai or mango...
