First time eating here on my birthday... wow. The food, drinks, and service was amazing! My waitress was Sarah, and she was one of the best servers I had in a very long time. Very kind, friendly, timely, and helpful! I have food allergies so I had to accommodate my order. She went back to the kitchen to ask about everything I needed to know before ordering my food. Tip: if you have dairy and soy allergies, you can still eat here!
My family and I had different appetizers, ordered drinks, and had different entrees. The wings, eggrolls, and mozzarella sticks were our apps. We were all satisfied! The chili thai sauce was delicious on the wings and egg rolls! My mother had two top shelf margaritas because they were BOMB, my niece ordered three cocktails, and were all nicely presented and good, and we went on the Wine Down Wednesday night.
But MY food! I had the Pasta Primavera w/ salmon, no parmesan and no lemon butter (tossed in garlic and olive oil instead). Needless to say, it was SO freaking good! When we come back that's what my family all wants to try! We will be back!
*For birthday people, you do get a special treat!
**Updated 3/15/22 I really enjoyed myself the first time I came to Props. So I decided to try them again—the EXACT SAME MEAL. This time it was about the first week of February or so at approximately 3:45pm. I did an online order for the same meal, plus a sandwich for my mom. We got a call about 10 minutes later saying that they couldn’t modify my order to accommodate my allergies. I wanted to leave off the lemon butter for just olive oil. I told them I came here in December and did it! I asked to speak to the kitchen manager or owner, but I didn’t. The hostess on the phone asked for me , and told me that the owner said they couldn’t change the meal and that they didn’t have any olive oil. (🤔) I let it go and we were going to get the other meal, but I called back and changed my mind so we were refunded our money.
I was very disappointed because I was able to have my meal modified for me the first time I came. With this encounter it was like it was a complete new thing. I don’t know if they changed owners, managers, or kitchen rules, but I changed my review from 5 stars to 3 because of this. The food is still good, but this just didn’t sit well with me! How are you going to flip the script like that? Maybe because it was an online order versus dine in, either way I felt like it could have been...
Read moreMy biggest issue with Props is that they allowed a pet inside the restaurant. The pet was inside it's pet carrier however was being fed scraps while sitting on the booth. It's so sad that you can't go anywhere where pets aren't allowed. Not everyone is pet friendly or has pets in their homes and people should be more considerate of those who aren't. What's worse is that the waitress assisted the pet owner by carrying the pet carrier outside for them. I bet she didn't even wash her hands after handling the cage before taking food to her other customers tables. Totally unacceptable!! This is getting outrageous. Where are the standards for food safety??? What is so bad I noticed that props had a perfect score on their recent health inspection. I wonder if the health inspector knows they allow pets to sit inside the restaurant. Decent food. I had the egg rolls and gumbo. Wasn't that impressed with the gumbo. Others in my party enjoyed their food. The salmon meal is really small for the price, one small piece of salmon a few tiny asparagus stalks and a relatively medium scoop of semi warm mashed potatoes. Catfish plate is pretty reasonable portioned, and the chicken and waffles were plentiful so were the wings and mini burgers and overall, our server Alyssia was very good but y'all do better on allowing pets inside your eating establishment.
Three Years ago Simply Amazing! Service with Sarah was phenomenal. She was very nice, incredibly informative and provided us overall great service. Calamari was delicious as well as seafood platter. Salmon and scallops were cooked to perfection. Asparagus had a smoky flavor which tasted great. Mashed potatoes were not the best but overall my meal was delicious. And to top it off we got to meet Mrs. Cathy. She is a jewel, beautiful inside and out. My only complaint would be is the sitting areas the tables are a little too close that you almost have no privacy, but I guess they are that way to be able to serve more guest. They were pretty busy and the wait was 30- 35 mins but you can call ahead to be placed on the wait list. Overall, this was a phenomenal restaurant, and I will highly recommend. I also loved seeing all the plane artifacts along with the father/son photos. It really gives the place a...
Read moreThe service the front desk kept us waiting we mind you we had reservations we were told it would be 15 minutes. 15 minutes, turned into an hour and a half all of our guest was in there waiting. There was not enough seat in the front so other people have been waiting longer than me to find out as we are all sitting there finally one man gets up and he says I had reservations and then everybody else said we had reservations. Why are these people walking in? It was because we all had kids with us Had plenty of seats, but they said that they didn’t see us. We didn’t know if you wanted your children to sit at a high table would’ve been enough so we would’ve had time to leave and go somewhere else. All the front desk had to say is we only got the tall tables and the tall chairs do you think it’ll be comfortable for your children? Let the customer who has reservation make that decision, I asked to see the manager as well and she said no ma’am that should’ve been my choice. She said yeah you’re right you’re right we should’ve asked then she found me a table, but then the service became worse than the wait time we asked for catfish this is their catfish all you can eat. They have no catfish sorry we don’t have a catfish today so my husband, I asked what about the seafood platter, I don’t think it was filled and it was terrible. My children had a burger two of them just want to Lowcountry bowl but we don’t do that anymore. Terrible but they wanted to charge us high in price. Will never return back there again we had to sit and beg for our check so we could leave, and then when we were looking at the bill, the bartender had doubled us on some of the drinks manager did take that off and credited back on our credit card and we always have your receipt as we’re leaving. The waitress had ran so many tables I guess a lot of people figured they weren’t gonna stand and beg to take their money so I think some two couples had lap. She runs up to our SUV and says I’m sorry, but y’all didn’t pay. We had to show the receipt and said are you kidding not only did we pay we had to have your manager come to take it back to the bar to take off to the drinks my kids order that would double charge so I will never, never be...
