The food was amazing but the customer service was horrible. Literally, from beginning to end we were treat so awful I wanted to dispute the charges with my bank. So when we came in the hostess walked us to a room with long tables for large parties. There were 8 of us. She literally walked away without saying a word. No "enjoy your meal or your server will be right with you" or anything. There were 2 available tables so we honestly didn't know what to do so we just chose a table and started sitting down. She happened to walk back by so we asked her if that was our table and she said yes. We have two kids with us so we asked for crayons. We received a hand full of broken crayons. Our waitress Kiyana (sp) came and was full of energy. We were like okay, she's gonna be good. We order our food. We ask a million questions to ensure anything extra we know before we decide to make the changes. It takes her forever to bring the drinks. The food came out right after we finally received our drinks. She came to check on us after our food was brought out and everyone's drinks were empty. She didn't say a word. We don't see her for a while. She finally returns and "asks" us if we want refills for the obvious empty cups. My mom asks if the mild is normally hot because she couldn't handle the spice. She says yes. My mom asks for garlic butter to calm down the spiciness. She tells my mom it will $2.50 and asks her if she wants it. My mom says not if I have to pay seeing that the mild isn't mild, it's hot. So my husband tells the waitress to just bring it. She leaves and takes forever to return. When she finally comes back with the drinks we're like we've been waiting a while. She says she has 3 tables, gives us our drinks, and leaves again. The next time she returned we just asked for the receipt and drinks to go. She came back with the to go drink order and spilled them all over the table, including my husband's cellphone. She returned with the new drinks and the ticket. I noticed immediately she charged us extra for some of our substitutions after we clarified what was and wasn't an additional charge. My friend had tea and asked for lemonade on his refill to go and she charged him for the refill even though he had already paid for a drink. So I attempt to ask about the charges and she cut me off saying shell get her manager. She quickly offered to hear the issue and see if she could resolve it. When I told her the issue she stated that the charges should not have been on there and she would have her manager take them off. She returns with the ticket and I'm looking at the receipt to make sure the changes were accurate. She walks away with an attitude. After about 5 minutes we walk out and are met by another employee (Felicia) who apologized and a manager. The manager asked if we needed to pay. I state to the manager that she did not deserve the $52 gratuity because she was rude and didn't do a good job. I stated she was sp horrible I was contemplating calling my bank and disputing the charges. He just walks away. No apology, nothing. So I'm waiting to get my card thinking maybe its taking so long because he's adjusting the ticket or something. After about 5 minutes, he comes back. Gives me my card. Still no apology or anything. I wrote a note on the receipt to treat the large parties the same way the smaller tables are treated when you're "working" for a tip and not getting gratuity. As we were leaving, a sweet girl named Felicia stopped us and kept apologizing. She knew we were upset and deserved something for the troubles. We talked for a while. She was a breath of fresh air. But, I won't be returning! My cousin suggested for our other cousin's Bachelorette night and when I spoke about the customer service everyone said oh no! The food costs too much for the service to be...
Read moreMe and my fiancé had been waiting for this place to open up for a while, we both love seafood so for our date night, we headed to Yami Crab around 7:30. When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was the hostess stand was about a mile away from the entrance and standing there was a very bored, not having it, looking teenager. She just stared at us so I assumed that’s where we walked up to. Once we got done with our mile walk to her she still continues to stare at us, then past us, then looked around so I said “ um a table for 2”. She finally jotted something down and handed me our buzzer and literally said nothing, so I said “ oookay guess we will sit over here and wait”. After we sat down, another teenaged hostess came up to her and they started laughing and chatting. I ignored this because most hostess are young and don’t have people skills yet so we waited. As I waited I looked the place over, it’s very well put together, really makes you feel like your at the beach on the water about to eat some bomb seafood so ( already starving) I got excited. We were finally seated after 30 minutes which was fine because they were busy and it really wasn’t a bad wait. After we got seated, no one came to our table for 20 minutes so we were looking around and I asked my fiancé “ where are the adults?” Not kidding you, it literally looked like the management went to a middle school to pick their waitresses. Still no big deal because I was 14 working as a waitress once. But not once did we spot a manager. Finally our waitress came over, she was pretty nice, took our drink order and sprinted off before we could give her our appetizer order. Again, fine I could tell they were busy. Then she returned not too long after with our drinks, put them on our table and sprinted off again before we could even ask for straws. We didn’t see her again ( not even at another table) for 20-30 minutes. Normally I try to give waitresses time because I know they are multitasking but she never came out from the back again which is confusing to me. I wondered if she was actually the one cooking people’s food because we couldn’t find her. Even from our seats in the back, we could see and hear the 4 younger kids at the hostess stand playing and laughing around, on their phones. I became irritated because we so obviously looked like we needed something and yet no one seemed to care. My fiancé said she felt like we were at a high school party even with the groups of customers there, it was just a weird environment. We ended up leaving after being there for an hour and a half with only our drinks. As we walked out, the one hostess who seemed more experienced looked at us funny and I said “ will you let our waitress know we are leaving”. She responded “ oh no, was she too slow” which to me was an odd thing to say. She said “ oh okay, I’m sorry y’all have a good night”. No one even tried to stop us or fix it. We decided we are going to let the new wear off and go back and try again. Super disappointed after being excited for so long for this...
Read moreDisappointed! Went on 9/5 around 7PM with my family hoping for some good seafood but left with a bad impression. The employees were friendly but the service was far below average and the fried fish, shrimp, & tenders were far from being as good as Captain D's. Cost was like fine dining while taste was like fast food. Perhaps we should have tried the low country boil & it would have been better. The waitress, although friendly, only came to our table to bring us our food and to bring us our bill. Our drinks ran out and I couldn't get her. I asked, what appeared to be, another waitress in training for refills and she never returned. I finally went to the waitress station and handed my cups to a helper in there. Again they were friendly but that was all. The wait after being seated was about 15 minutes. I debated on whether to leave at that point but unfortunately decided to give them a chance. They were not that busy and we saw lots of help standing around. There were 2-3 people serving as hosts, a few waitresses, few bar employees and the place wasn't packed yet they couldn't take care of us. I watched two other tables of families staring around trying to flag folks down for a bill & for just someone to bring them drinks & take their order. The help was young and seemed to lack management or leadership. I know when a place is new it goes through growing pains and I try to tell myself this was theirs but I won't be going back. I had high hopes b/c I hate driving to Macon for good seafood but next time I'll make the drive. Atmosphere was nice but service stunk. Up to you if you want to try them but I'd wait a year to let them sort...
