I can not speak for the traditional studies but the adult bridge courses are terrible. The adjunct Teachers could careless if you learn anything. my latest class had six chapters of reading and we had no discussion over the reading or the assignment. He talk negative about a former student to another student in our class that may have been in his prior class. He had us read in first chapter on Genesis and the talk about the specifics for about 10 minutes, and asked a lot of personal questions and volunteered personal information and sent us home early. He instructed us not to get him in trouble by being noisy and making it known that we were let out early. Where is the integrity he is a Bible scholar and teaching “Biblical Perspectives”. I am still waiting on an answer from an email from 5 days ago.
Eileen Ruger is the only Professor this far that has known her Subject and she does references reviews from assigned book. Eileen keeps you the whole class time and reviews the lesson with you. I guess the average instructor thinks that we are not here to learn what we are studying. Most of class time is not related to the books purchased.
The learning disability counselor is very condescending when speaking to you and she does not follow up. I will not reach out over and over to a person that seems bothered by me and my disability. Then she referred me to a staff member to tutor me and then the VA would not approve payment of over $30 an hour so my future appointments were canceled. I have asked repeatedly for some type of help, like maybe getting my books earlier, or audible books so won’t get so anxious trying to keep up with all the weekly reading but I just fall through the cracks. I want a degree and have been failing completion because I was failed as a child in education and don’t know how to bridge the disability to complete my degree.
I have also been forwarded political bias push forward emails from Doctoral staff by mistake which seems unprofessional to me. My emails and phone calls have not been returned in a timely manner. I have reached out to Senoir Admissions Representative Marci Greene and I was given excuses to why it may have happened. She asked if I had reached out to the forwarder of the emails to see if it was there intention to send me the political bias emails. I shared some personal history and experience with Marci and she was very short and judgmental afterwards. I made an appointment with her, in which she suggested for me to make to introduce me to some options I may have been missing on moodle. I arrived and checked in. Marci had someone in her office so the reception said she should not be long. The receptionist left the office so I peeped in a little while later, Marci thought I was late so she was very short with me a said she has a meeting a will be leaving shortly. When we made the appointment she said “just come and we will stay as long as it takes.
I just need a little support and...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. I graduated thank the lord. I would not recommend this place to anyone going into nursing. It was literally the worst years of my life. I have never in my life been so depressed. Also the staff basically told me I wouldn’t make it as a nurse and they were the least empathetic people. I tried to ask for help multiple times and I was left for dry. Also if you’re working and doing school, that’s not okay with them. They tried to tell me to quit my job, as if that was an option. WHAT A JOKE. I tried to get out of doing their 27-30 something chapel credits because I was full time nursing student and full time working because bills. They told me no and told me I didn’t meet the qualifications. I also lived off campus. I knew several people that were able to get out of the credits but not me. Of course. I told them I was going to drop below the standard hours and THEN they told me I could get out of chapel as my “senior gift”. I feel like this school was more beneficial to people that are going into ministry then maybe it’s for you. If it’s anything else, I...
Read moreSNU is a great place to be a student at! I attended all 4 years of my undergrad here for Graphic Design and loved it. Professors are intentional, helpful, and caring. Class sizes are typical fairly small so getting to know your classmates and professor is so easy. Not to mention more 1-1 time with your professors. I also just received my Masters in Leadership degree from SNU. This was a nearly 2 year degree all online. Class structures were clear and concise which was super important for an all-online structure. The professors for these classes were just as amazing and helpful as the in-person professors. This is a great place that challenges you as a student and also strives for students to learn more about Christ. I recommend checking SNU out for...
