My experience with Bruno's Bistro was a disaster and took place on Christmas Eve 2019. I had a reservation for four, myself, wife and elderly parents at 6:45 PM. We arrived at 6:25 PM and we're seated right away. We sat at our table for 25 minutes and no waitress or waiter greeted us with menus or to open our bottle of wine. I approached the hostess and told her what was happening. The owner and or manager came to our table opened our wine and took our orders. At about 7:30 PM the apps we ordered arrived. The grilled Calamari was over cooked and the broccoli Rabe and sausage was bland & under cooked. We sat there until 8:25 PM and not a single person came back to our table to see how our apps were or to bring us our dinners for that matter. Many of the other tables were getting the same treatment. I decided to again approach the hostess and express my dissatisfaction and that this was the worst experience I've ever had and that we would be leaving and that's exactly what we did. If I could give Bruno's 0 Stars I would. The service we received was absolutely unacceptable plus they were understaffed. What food we did receive was unsatisfactory. There should have been no reason to be understaffed since the the restaurant knew how many reservations they had for the evening. I will not be going back. Total fail Bruno's! Read moreWe discovered Bruno's Bistro because we wanted to find a BYOB that has good food and that was close to home. We didn't expect this place to be in a strip mall. Seating is limited so it’s best to make reservations.
Their staff are very welcoming and accommodating. We have been there numerous times with friends and as a couple and have always had a great experience. If you like calamari, you'll love the Cajun Calamari as a starter. It’s a nice balance of savory and sweet with the calamari cooked to perfection. The Eggplant Rollantine is very good too. Every meal has always been fabulous.
How else to end a great meal but with great desserts? I never have room so I end up taking it home. Order the cannoli. You’ve never had cannoli like this before. The shell is formed out of slivered almonds coated in honey, the ends dipped in chocolate then filled with their cannoli...

Bruno and Bess treat their guests as friends and family and that is reflected from the moment you are welcomed to their restaurant, to the quality of the food, to actually visiting with you and taking interest in you and your life. We have many favorites! The fried calamari is excellent. It's prepared with a balsamic sauce rather than the usual marinara. Bread is delicious and served with butter. There are always specials of pasta, seafood, and meats. There short ribs melt in your mouth. We love their eggplant rollatini, cheese gnocci served with crabmeat in vodka sauce (mwah!), and parpadelle Bolognese. They are now serving a pistachio dessert that is to die for.
