Uproot is really trendy restaurant with modern decor. I love their eclectic menu. I came her on 3 different occasions and would give them 3 different rating for each visit. The first time I would of gave them 5 stars that night I had the Buffalo Cauliflower as my appetizer which was really good! For dinner I had the Prime strip steak with potato onion cakes which was Amazing! It was the dish I had here so far! Definitely get their prime strip steak! For dessert I had their chocolate chip in a skillet which was very good! The second time I came I felt it was 4 stars. That day I had their fried Brussels sprouts. On the menu it said it was coming with fall spiced butternut sauce, spicy sweet and sour onions, and pickled apples. But, basically it was pretty much just fried Brussels sprouts. It was good, but I wish it had more of the flavors as it was described. For my entree I had the shrimp and noodles which was tasty! Tonight I would of rated it 3.5 stars. I ordered the shrimp and avocado appetizer. It was described as having mashed avocado, fresh mango, crispy corn masa, and chipotle honey. Again, this was another dish that sounded a lot better than it was. It pretty much was mashed avocado with some corn chips. The mango wasn’t sweet as it’s not season now. Overall it was just ok. For dinner I had their burger and fries. The burger was very good! It was nice and juicy! The fries I ordered with it were horrible! They had no seasoning and were over fried! They were too hard and burnt! I was really disappointed with the fries! Overall, I give this restaurant 4 stars. Some dishes are excellent and some just ok, but their fries are terrible! Hopefully, they can improve them! I still want to come back and try some more dishes! I recommend...
Read moreWe went there two weeks ago for Date night and this restaurant is one of the best I have tried near my house.. We were greeted and seated right away.. Our waiter was very nice. We ordered for appetizer Chicken liver Pate, Buffalo cauliflower & bun mi fried bun. We also ordered goat cheese and bacon pizza.. First arrived-- Chicken liver Pate. This was too good.. I do want to comment on crostini here which is one of the best I had so far.. Just by this appetizer-- I knew my food night is going to be great.. second arrived-- pork buns-- I had them many many times but again these lightly fried steamed buns were some of the best I had so far.. and I had them in many high end restaurants.. third-- buffalo cauliflower-- this lightly fried cauliflower dish surprised me most bc I didn't have much hopes for it bc as Indian -- I had gobhi Manchurian ( Indian fried cauliflower dish) multiple times and my husband was surprised that I ordered it BUT let me tell you-- this dish with simple subtle taste for my Indian palate was exceptional.. For me-- best dish of the night.. Blue cheese with fresh chives-- too good... Lastly our pizza came and it was good not great but other three dishes were so impressive- I will let it slight.. I need to stop ordering pizza in these American food restaurants.. I was so full but I really wanted desert & looking at their menu-- I knew it will be great but hubby had his hands up.. I know I will be back many many times.. exceptional food, service, liked their decor and also liked waiters dress code too.. don't miss this place.. They are providing amazing food-- will be...
Read moreThis place used to be good years ago. I recently went here with my family, including my very old grandparents. I felt like we were receiving bad service because we were with really old people and because half of us were not drinking. The Coke and Diet Coke my wife and I got were undrinkable. We were never asked if everything was good or ok, so we never got the chance to get different drinks and just stuck to water. I found the menu to be all over the place. The items sounded good in theory but did not taste good in practice. Even my wife's burger was bad. I used to rave about this place years ago because they killed it every time with a great menu. Now, it seems the food is a shadow of its former self. The waitress was extremely inattentive and rarely visited us. We spent over 2 hours there in total. Way too long for what it was, completely due to slow service. I don't know what happened, but it seemed like they forgot to input the order. It became comical towards the end of the experience. "Don't order desserts or else we'll be here for another hour." The waitress semi-apologized at the end, and then sent her manager over. The manager did not acknowledge our negative experience and instead just grabbed the check for us. It seemed like they were understaffed, maybe? I don't know, I'm not a restaurant professional. What I know is that this place is very expenseive. A party of 7 coming in for dinner should be something that they appreciate. I felt bad for spending money and time somewhere that made us feel like it was our obligation...
