I walked into FADS in Warren one day because I wanted to relearn how to dance salsa for my daughters upcoming wedding. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted warmly and professionally by the entire FADS team. This in itself left an impression with me. Since that day, I’ve noticed that, no one that walks through that door receives less of a welcome than I did when I first walked in off the street. What I have also seen, firsthand, is that they are always trying to make sure that their students are getting the education they deserve as well as the best experience possible because they really do care for their students.
As I mentioned previously, I went in to relearn one dance and started to learn a few others and suddenly, I’m hooked. I thought I’d be there 1 to 2 months at most. Well, it’s been a few months now and I am not planning on stopping anytime soon because I am having way too much fun!! Olga Shchuchynska is my instructor/coach/friend and has been since day one. Her love of dance and life comes out in who she is and because of her infectious personality, makes it is such a pleasure and joy for me to continue to show up on this new adventure. She has been a great coach as she listens to what I have to say and knows how to push me. It’s been, at times, a physical and mental challenge and with support and patience from my coach, Olga, we work through it and always achieve our goals. I enjoy every minute of it! From time to time I’ve worked with Katya and Ilya as well, Warren staff, and they are equally as great!
What has also been great with FADS organization is that with world events, they were able to quickly come up with utilizing the web for private lessons with students and also incorporate other forms of web classes so we would be able to do something daily.
Since the first day that I walked into the Fred Astaire DS in Warren, I’ve considered it a serendipitous event because of the unexpected fun it has brought back into my life...because of the beautiful people I have met...Olga/Katya/Ilya/Michelle/fellow students...some I hope to meet, soon, in real life and not just virtually (Oradell staff & students / Marlboro staff & students). It really is a fun, supportive, family atmosphere! When it’s time, checkout the open-to-the-public events!...

When I first came to Fred Astaire Dance Studios, I had only publicly danced one single time… in middle school! I was so bad at my 8th grade dance that other kids took out their phones to record and ridicule me (True story!). Since then, I’ve avoided dancing in public at all costs, but with my wedding coming up, I knew there was no way to avoid the first dance. With the dread of public dancing weighing on my mind, I decided my fiancée and I should take some classes. We’d heard of FADS from a relative of mine, and so, with tentative anticipation, we decided to check it out. The positivity and jovial atmosphere are the first things you notice when you walk into the studio. Everyone is happy, everyone is energetic, and the energy is infectious. They found a perfect plan for us, and we began dancing the next day. We learned some basic steps and by the end of our first lesson, for the first time in my life, I was dancing with confidence. After a few lessons, we began choreographing our first dance. Throughout the process, the instructors were always looking for our input on how we wanted the dance to look and feel, and we came up with a routine perfect for our skill level, our personality, and one that we are proud to perform. All the criticism they gave was extremely constructive, and has really helped keep our confidence level high. We’ve been going for a few months now and the improvements we’ve made are still astonishing to me. Not only are we better dancers, but we really feel like we’ve made a lot of friends at the studio. Last week we even attended their 5 year anniversary party, and we had an amazing time dancing the night away! (Which is something I NEVER thought I could do.) So, from me and Celeste, THANK YOU FRED ASTAIRE DANCE STUDIOS!!!...
Read moreThe Fred Astaire Warren, NJ team helped me and my wife learn foundational dances and prepare for our first dance ahead of our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the results. The Fred Astaire team made us feel welcome from Day 1 and exhibited the care and attention to detail we needed to learn the basics of ballroom dance and feel comfortable performing in front of an audience. The team put together a beautiful and unique choreographed dance for our first dance and even helped choreograph a dance for me and my mother to perform for our Mother / Son dance at the wedding.
We had 1-on-1 sessions with Arthur / Angelina and Alex / Nika to help us learn dance moves step-by-step and each instructor showed the skill and patience that allowed us to master not only our choreographed dances, but also a variety of dances that my wife and I will enjoy for the rest of our lives no matter the occasion!
We were also able to perform our dance as a featured spotlight dance during the studio's monthly party. Everyone at Fred Astaire Warren embraced us, including the other students, which helped us immensely as we prepared for our big day. We highly recommend Fred Astaire Warren and are forever grateful...
