I know we all love a good Starbucks latte, but I want to make people aware of what is going on at the store level and how employees have been treated under the new corporate management. There has been a push at the corporate level to fire as many baristas, shift supervisors, and managers, regardless of years of service and dedication to the store. This has occurred at many stores in the area, but specifically, the Warren Starbucks store has been on a firing rampage, which included dedicated shift supervisors and baristas who rarely called out, came in when others called out, were awarded employee of the month, and were otherwise star employees. If you notice that the Warren Starbucks store is closed, it is because half the store was fired and most of the other half quit in protest. Corporate loss prevention is pulling security videos going back as far as 2018, and firing anyone who gave away a free drink to anyone, but specifically to police officers. The district manager and loss prevention stated they are looking specifically at employees who gave free drinks to police officers, even though at the time the store manager communicated that this was ok. Employees are allowed free drink and food while working, but if they forget to mark it out, they're fired. No discussion, no warning, if you forget to mark out food that you're allowed to have, you're fired. One employee was fired for giving out 1 free drink 3 months ago, another was fired for 2 free drinks back in 2023...yes they went all the way back to 2023 to find a reason to fire this employee. An employee was fired for forgetting to mark out a new food that they were all told they needed to sample, and when they said to Loss Prevention, I apologize I forgot to mark that out, the response was "too bad that's stealing you're fired". Starbucks is using this as a loop hole against these employees to reduce staffing because the Company is hurting. If they can say the employee "stole", regardless of if that is actually the situation or not, they can then terminate immediately instead of going through the write up process, and all the hoops Starbucks has that are meant to protect employees. Employees deserve respect, and not to fear for their jobs every day, especially the employees who make a lower wage and count on that paycheck to put food on the table. For the record, I do not work for Starbucks nor have I ever, but I know many employees, many of whom have been wrongfully terminated or now fear for their job every day, concerned that something from 5 years ago will get them fired today. Starbucks makes them all sign papers that they cannot sue, so obviously not much can be done. But we as a community should be aware of how our people are being treated by big...
Read moreI ordered a mobile online order. I pick it up as I always do. Then, I politely ask for a straw. I was told this time when I asked for a straw at roughly 1:30pm by a young lady, that they were NOT offering straws , only clients that obtain frozen drinks. I ask politely "How I am going to drink this?" I posited a question in which an associate that is properly trained, would have said 1) you can pay for a straw or 2) here is a straw as we only limit them to customers who request them. The associate didn't present an option, the associate retorted with the same statement. I replied "This is ridiculous policy" In which instead of managing expectations and offering another option " The associate repeated what I said "oh you think that is ridiculous, do you want to speak to my manager." Manager walks over. Manager hands me the straw. Who started rationing the straws? Why are you rationing straws? Why would you not provide straws to clients with iced drinks? This is awesome place (hence the stars) but in terms of continuous improvement (kaizen) might I suggest you train the afternoon associate that I spoke with? I don't think its wise to ration straws (I get it inflations sucks) but better customer relations are...
Read moreI used to love this Starbucks! The drinks and food are obviously great but the staff used to make all the difference. They were always greeting everybody and had their customer service skills down. I don’t know what happened but the young staff that were recently hired are rude and disrespectful. My drink was a bit too watery to the point that it had no flavor so I asked politely if there was any way it could be remade. Unfortunately I am not having a drink I paid $6 plus dollars for only to taste like water. The lady was helpful and remade my drink but the two young guys working argued saying “ that’s what happens when you use less bumps” and “it looked the ** exact same”. When I mentioned it wasn’t less pumps at all and that I come in and order the same thing every day… the young guy gave me attitude and said “ I was just making a point” … Just because it looks the same doesn’t mean it tastes the same, let’s learn that please.. The lady was doing her best and asked me to retry it in which I heard young guy say that and just left in disgust. These new workers/ young kids need to learn customer service and how to be polite. Looks like I am not the only one who has come in contact with them based on the...
