Mito Hibachi & Sushi — Restaurant in Warren

I usually don’t leave reviews, but this one is well-deserved. Found out about MITO because it used to be a restaurant named sagonos ( or something like that) the food was amazing under the old name ,today I went for the second time since it’s been MITO and I must say it’s definitely not worth going. I ordered the chicken hibachi dinner. It comes with a soup a salad, your choice of rice and a clear broth soup everything was mediocre at best. I’ll start with the chicken. It was cooked well but has something sweet on it. That was a new thing for me. The noodles were sticky, overcooked and covered in the same sweet sauce which again was nothing like the old restaurant the salad which is very simple. The old owners had a peanut ginger dressing , the dressing I got today was blended, turmeric and ginger and something sweet….. can you see where I’m going with this? The soup is a broth soup that usually comes with crunchy wonton pieces on the side, but somebody decided to put it in hot soup so now the soup is inedible because it has slimy pieces of wonton floating around. The veggies were good but had something sweet on it too. The Yum Yum sauce was separated and had oil sitting at the top topic off. I paid for extra garlic butter. The old restaurant gave you roasted garlic in real butter MITO decided to substitute with some fluffy hydrogenated oil with a few fresh garlic pieces. Overall, the experience has made me never want to go here again and I tried it twice to make sure I wasn’t “tripping” I’ve had better hibachi off the Backstreets of Detroit in Brightmore do yourself a favor and don’t spend the ridiculous amount of money here unless you just want...

I initially rated the experience 1 star but ive now put it back to 4 stars. Due to an error that resulted in an additional charge on their end, management has since acknowledged the mistake and issued a refund. While it did require posting an online review to receive a response, I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved.

We’ve been regulars here for the half-priced sushi between Tuesday and Thursday — it used to be one of our go-to spots. But after my most recent experience on June 10th, I’m seriously rethinking that. My bill came to about $43.80, and with tax, tip, and their 20% mandatory service charge, I left a total of $52.25. Later, I found out they charged my card $99.20 — nearly double what I authorized.

Since I travel frequently for work, I can’t just stop by to fix this. I tried calling multiple times, only to get caught in a loop of automated menus, and their voicemail box has been full every time. With no way to reach anyone, I had no choice but to dispute the charge through my credit card company — but they ruled against me, likely because they couldn’t get through to the restaurant either.

It’s incredibly frustrating to be overcharged and then completely ignored when trying to resolve it. I’ve always enjoyed the food here, but after this experience, I’ll definitely be thinking twice before...

Mito Hibachi and Sushi provided an outstanding dining experience that I would highly recommend. We ordered the hibachi with New York strip steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The chef’s precision and skill at the grill made the experience both entertaining and delicious. The steak was seared beautifully on the outside while remaining pink and warm on the inside—exactly how a medium rare cut should be.

The meal began with a crisp, refreshing salad and a bowl of comforting miso soup, both included with the hibachi. The salad had a light, tangy ginger dressing that added just the right kick. The miso soup was warm, savory, and soothing—perfect for starting off the meal.

What truly made the evening special was the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the hibachi chef brought energy and fun to the table, engaging everyone with tricks and laughter. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. The ambiance was welcoming and ideal for both families and date nights. From start to finish, Mito delivered excellent food and great vibes.
