Found the food to be less than authentic, bland-little flavor, more of an Americanized version, which is about par for the course these days. The salsa, however, was good and did have some good flavor, the chips another story, obviously rushed through the process, though crispy they were barely warm and a bit oily. It’s become very hard to find an ethnic restaurant with authentic flavors, guess it’s too much trouble to let the flavors cook and meld together, overnight if needed and in the old ways. The service was also less than it could have been. Our waiter really wasn’t interested in service, at least not ours, his assumed girlfriend (they were quite friendly) however was not lacking for his attentions at the bar. Made a simple request upon completing our visit – an itemized receipt [for my accounting department, so they could see I didn’t spend every cent of my client luncheon on alcohol], and he couldn’t get that right. After going into an act of not understanding the request he returned with a reprint of the debt transaction, of which I really haven’t any need of, I get that info from my bank before I even leave the place. All in all, in my opinion, no more and no better than a rubber stamp fast-food restaurant, without the drive-up...
Read moreWe were sat upstairs for the first time and it will be the last time that we eat here. The food tasted fine but we ordered a double order of the fajitas with chicken steak and shrimp. We received a single order with 2 plates. The waitress never checked on us so that we could tell her. She did not come back until she brought the check. When we left she was sitting at the bottom of the stairs in a booth on her phone. The worst part was the dirtiness of the upstairs with hanging cobwebs blowing in the air off the saws hanging on the wall and the layer of dirt and dust off the black tapestry on the wall. We did not attempt to finish our dinner because when they brought the fajitas there was a absolutely filthy pot holder on the handle of the fajitas pan. That was left on the handle of the plate our food was on. When I said something when we paid, the man did not care. I even showed him pictures and he just shook his head. He acted like it was an every day occurrence. He said he would say something to the waitress. Did not even attempt to apologize or offer...
Read moreService has always been very good, but the carne asada taste quality has gone down the hill in the past 3 years. The last time we went was on last Friday June 21. First off, the front lobby smells like dirty mop water. They need some Fabuloso to freshen up the place. I could barely breathe through my nose without holding my breath walking in. Both me and husband always ordered the same exact plate Carne Asada plate. The steak was super chewy, unflavored, the green onion had a haircut lol the green part was chopped off (only 1 string now until before 3), and the queso fresco has gotten so much smaller than it was 3 years ago. Overall, the steak wasn’t good enough for our cravings anymore. I know for a fact they changed the chef. It doesn’t taste good anymore. The chips with salsa and the horchata are the only thing is good. What happened to the food portion and taste...
