We were immediately greeted and asked for our drink order. So far, so good. My wife ordered the Chicken Bento Box. She absolutely loved her meal. The chicken was tender and flavorful. My older son had the Shrimp Tempura Bento Box. It was so plentiful, he wasn't able to finish it all. My youngest son had 2 salmon sushi rolls. Here devoured them quickly and loved it. My meal however, wasn't quite to my full liking. I had the Yakitori. Unfortunately, three chicken was overcooked and dry. The flavor of the teriyaki sauce was good though. I also had Salmon Rolls. Those were good. My entree however was where my problems came. I ordered the Curry Chicken. It lacked much curry flavor. The chicken was cooked well, but the broccoli was too undercooked. Nonetheless, I ate what I could, and left full because how much I ate during the entire dinner experience. Now, some of the food didn't come out until we brought it to the attention of the server. For instance, the guests who we ate with, didn't get their Crab Rolls until mid-meal. My wife's salad didn't come out until after she got her entree. The staff made up for it, without any prior knowledge or complaint from us, by bringing out their Fried Oreos. This was a nice gesture, and I think we'll definitely be back again. Their effort to make things right was what won me over. I gave it a 4 star rating because of the majority of our food being good. Mine was the only exception, and I chocked it up to the dish itself. I just try something else next time. For my background, I spent 14 years working in restaurants. I've been a chef, server, bartender, and manager. I have good understanding of how a restaurant works. This restaurant did fairly well. There were just a few areas of opportunity. Again, I'll...
Read moreI went into this with an open mind, even after reading some of the reviews, especially the bad ones. So, let's get going. For starters, when our "server" seated us, she took our drink order and once she returned with our drinks, we didn't see her again for another 25 minutes!! I had to walk up to one of them and ask if someone could come and take our order. So, instead of dropping what she was doing to come take our order, she finished busing her table and then, finally, came to take our order. She did apologize, so there's that. When they brought out our food, they brought it out one at a time. My food was cool and the other was still steaming. Plus, the food that was brought out first, which was barely warm (filet and shrimp), the meat sort of tasted like dog food. Thankfully, the sushi was good and the food that was hot was good.
If you decide to go to this place, I hope that your food and service was better than ours. ALSO, if you go to this place, be sure to sit at a table w/chairs and NOT sit in a booth. When the people behind you move, you feel everything, like they are sitting on your back. It was very distracting and frustrating. I don't blame the people sitting in the booths, they are just trying to enjoy themselves, but it's not fun for others who are trying to eat and get thrust into when you are trying to eat and drink.
I don't go to Warsaw often but if I do go back, I don't think I could return to this place. Very...
Read moreThe best Japanese restaurant in Warsaw for sure! Despite the heavy cigarette odor when you walk in the door from another business & or the dark decoration inside the restaurant, food has always been deliciously great. The owner is always friendly with warmth welcoming every time we go there. Love love love their Teriyaki chicken bento box. The chicken is always well cooked, not over or under cooked. Fried rice has always been perfect, the dumplings was (& always been) nicely crisp, California rolls are a bit tiny (compares with the ones in CA), their side salad is always fresh with their secret dressing (has been my favorite) & their miso soup, I can’t brag enough how good they were whenever they served them to me! Tonight, we ordered a Yum Yum rolls. That was a 10 out of 10 rolls. Delicious overload!! Love dipping everything into their restaurant’s highly secretive “Yum Yum” sauce!! Can’t figure out a taste of what that might be, but it was really good. My daughter loves their green tea ice-cream. I love their coconut bubble tea with tapioca! Tonight, the owner gave us a free dish of dessert “Fried Oreo Cookies” side with whipped cream. Oh my, I never had tried those before, it was so good that it instantly made me HAPPY! We are so grateful to her kindness. Will we go back again and again, I say YES! Haha..why wouldn’t WE? How could we...
