One of those places where 90% of the customers appear to be regulars as well as appearing to be relaxed. One of those places where it's always dark even at the height of summer, at noon, on a cloudless day, on a weekend. At the moment, it's quiet, but gathering from the stage, I suspect that is not always the case. Well, that's kind of a relief, crowds make ne nervous and a lot of noise interferes with my taste buds. And that's why I'm here... for the food. Hmmm, the Alfredo looks good. but I am tempted by the onion rings which are an upgrade with the sandwiches so I go for the Club and it's quite a sight! Built like a beaver dam, logical and ordered, yet jumbled and diverse. Things are looking good and the onion rings look like they were clipped out of a food magazine. First off, the onion rings are perfect! Why in the world would anyone choose tots or fries when they could have this paragon of culinary allium, this concentric concept of deep fried tears? Crunchy and soft, brown and not burned, they alone are a good enough reason to come back. The club sandwich, although just a touch daunting rewards my first tentative bite with a flood of smoke. You know, it's one of those guy things that probably harken back to neanderthals sitting around in front of their caves waxing philosophic and smoking the days wooly mammoth. That is, smoking meats... Not like rolling a fat one and smoking that. I can't tell exactly where that smoke is coming from, I thought at first it was the bacon, but although the bacon is crisp, thick, and savory, I don't think that's it. Maybe the Chicken or the Ham? Wherever it's coming from, it bumps up that decent Club Sandwich and makes it memorable. Like a beautiful woman wearing some captivating scent. Good crunch to the toast, not too much of any one ingredient and not too little either. A juggling act of parts that add up to more than their sum. I don't drink so I'm not really inclined towards bars in general, but there are bars and there are bars and there is bar food and then there is bar food. This falls in the latter. Damn good bar food in an absolutely classic local bar.

I really tried to like this place due to the high positive reviews. Perhaps we just came on the wrong day. My bf and I came last week Friday and we ordered the clam chowder, he ordered the taco nacho salad, & I got the baked fish dinner (due to the server's recommendation). Service was a bit slow, but to be fair there were two large parties and some other tables that came at the same time so it looks like we arrived during the dinner rush. Service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. The reason for the 2 stars is the lack of quality with all of our meals. The clam chowder was overly thick and creamy that I could not finish it. The meat from the taco nacho salad was very dry and the overall dish lacked a lot of flavor. The baked fish and the mashed potatoes was very bland. The mashed potatoes just looked like a baked potato that was peeled. Honestly with our dinner bill to be about 70+ dollars and the high reviews of the place, we expected better and left very disappointed. We were thinking of probably talking to our server to see if our meals would be comp but since we did not receive much attention, we decided to just finish what we can. The atmosphere/vibe seemed really chill though. We do like the multiple screen tvs on the walls with different sports that were on. Maybe this place would be good to have drinks and maybe a few bar eats, but I would not recommend for dinner.

When you're in the mood for a delicious meal, fantastic drinks and dancing to incredible live music, Billy Blues is the place to be! Bill and Kodi have an amazing location and set-up with a fantastic waitstaff and bartenders. With plenty of seating to accommodate even large groups, a large stage with a top sound system, 2 pool tables and a full bar, you'll find yourself surrounded by friendly faces no matter what brought you in. Billy's boasts live music every weekend. The tribute bands and cover bands that they host, are always entertaining, high energy and there to bring the party to life! I highly recommend arriving hours early because these bands guarantee a full house. Looking for some tastebud satisfaction? The Prime Rib Dip with a side salad, tots or fries, is fantastic! Watching carbs, not a problem! I like mine with pepper bacon. Cheers to your next night out at Billy Blues Bar and Grill!

The Good: Atmosphere, service, selection. The Bad: Price Quality

My wife and I have lived, literally, around the corner from this establishment for the 3 years we have lived in Vancouver and this was our first time stopping by. The outside is clean and you instantly know you are entering a sports bar. The hostess greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere we liked. We found a nice table in the upper restaurant section and our waitress was with us quickly. There was also a live band setting up that we will get to in a moment. There was an odd smell to the place, not sure if it was a chemical of some sort or what but it was noticeably but not overly unpleasant, just odd. The waitress took our drink orders, Cola for my wife and Iced Tea for me. We looked over the menu. I have been looking for a good steak in Vancouver since we arrived here and I was recommended this place from a friend. I had already looked over the menu online before we arrived and so I knew what I would be ordering. I selected the Ribeye with a baked Potato, vegetable and a salad, additionally I ordered the coconut prawns as a side. My wife ordered the Philly New York sandwich. As we waited for our food the stage was a hum of activity as a live band was setting up to provide music. I LOVE live music and have been dragging my wife to shows all over Portland for the last couple of years. This place had not yet came onto my music radar despite it's proximity to my home. I did not catch the bands name, they were covering eighties hits this night. They were good and had me singing along with virtually every selection. I will definitely be back for the music.

The salad was great, hard to ruin a house salad with no dressing. My ribeye arrived and it looked amazing, topped with mushrooms and herb butter. The steak was cooked exactly as medium-rare as I like it. As I ate the steak I kept getting an odd taste. It wasn't bad, just not what I am used to tasting on my steak. I thought it might be the herb combination in the butter but at any rate, like I said, it was not off putting enough for me to stop eating. The coconut prawns were excellent and I will likely eat them again if we return. As I dug into my baked potato I quickly found that it was in fact the butter that was weird tasting, not the herbs. I actually could not even finish my potato, which is a rarity for me. I am not sure if it was bad butter, or just butter that did not taste good. On the other side of the table my wife was thoroughly enjoying her entire meal. She said that the fries were amazing, best she has had in The Couve and her sandwich was tasty and cooked well, maybe in need of more mushrooms though.

I will likely return for the music and to sample some other menu items, I doubt I will try the steak again. Our bill came to $67.20, $80.00 with the tip which is a bit more than I wanted to spend on a Wednesday night... But I just HAD to...

Good music..Bands Fri/Sat..ok food prices way high for food you receive.....Drinks ok..high like most places in this area..wait/staff rude or nice depending on who waits on you...owners go back on their words at least with me..Went for my birthday with son and daughter in law. Was looking for a table after paying a ten $ cover charge each,to find the seating was all taken..Being older had I known we would of not gone in..But had other ppl coming and called owner and said if he could hold 1 table for me then we would call get even for being overcharged for my food and tab..was told no holding of tables so we got their early, thinking we would find 1 table for 6 ppl...before we spoke to anyone the so called manager(was told they didn't have anyone as a manager long ago) came up to us and said to me if I started anything in the bar ?.?? We would be kicked out...Talk about being embarrassed beyond words because my kids were with me..My son hadn't been told anything about my past bill being tally wrong by 20 bucks by me...but. He was so embarrassed by the the whole thing that it ruin my 1 night out with my son....She should of ask to speak to me privately...Ruin my birthday too..I always spend 40 to 60 bucks each time my friends and I go...always eat dinner and good or bad service tip 20%.. Haven't been back and neither have my friends..The dance floor is way too small for the amount of ppl who come to dance...they do have great music and ppl dance by their table's alot...can be a fun night out if you go..My suggestion go early to get a table if your with friends..be sure to tell your waitresses (who hold your cards) if your buying another person's drink cause they don't ask and that was 1 of the problems I had with my bill..that one time...always get sick on the burgers each time I've had one..but not on anything else so far..ONION RIngs are very good but sometimes you get what you pay for them, sometimes you don't.....all in all always had fun.....But we don't go their anymore because of the rudeness of the wait staff....Oh and Thank you for ruining my Birthday Party and my only night out with my son from another state in 13...
