This was our first time dining at BLT Steak and certainly won’t be the last. The atmosphere is what to be expected of a typical steak house sleek, modern, and dim lighting. On arrival we were greeted by the front of the house, who were very friendly and easy to converse with. Next we were seated and greeted by our server, Sharon. Sharon was knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. They bring you an incredible bread course in the form of a popover (you’re even provided with the recipe!) For the appetizer, we were recommended the burrata. This was an excellent choice. The grapes really add an unexpected yet delicious element. One of the best burrata dishes weve experienced. For the main course i had the Japanese A5 Miyazaki wagyu. Another great choice. The sear was perfect, the seasoning was on point, and the steak itself melted in your mouth. My husband had the Australian wagyu strip steak. While no where near the taste quality of the Japanese, it was still an exceptional steak and one of the better he’s had. Since the rest of the meal had been impressive, we decided to partake in dessert. We chose the peanut butter mousse. We are always underwhelmed with dessert selections however this was the exception. The mousse was exquisite texture with even more flavor. The banana ice cream added a lighter element that blended seamlessly. The brĂ»lĂ©e on the mousse is truly what made it, adding a slight crunch that leaves you wanting more. Overall, this restaurant provides the type of experience you would expect from an upscale steakhouse. The food was thoughtful and full of flavor. I would recommend this place over and over.

ABSOLUTELY amazing! Keith, our server, made our whole experience simply phenomenal. He was the icing on the cake of some of the BEST food in the area/country/world even. Best (12th) anniversary dinner ever. Everything melted in your mouth! I still can’t get over what the chef did to that branzino! It was THE best treatment of branzino in all of DC, from the way it was cooked, so tender and slightly crisp, to its pairings beneath and a top it. And my husband’s Australian Wagyu — mm mm MM!! I’m telling you. Like butter!! Tender yet flavorful. And the grilled bacon appetizer is a thing you must try. The oysters were so fresh. It’s like there was an ocean in the back! Brussel sprouts = perfection. And the onion rings, a surprising treat at a fine dining establishment, were also cooked to perfection. Where do you find an onion ring that the whole onion never pulls out of the batter? This one cut and bit exactly where it was supposed to lol! I’m like how the heck can an onion ring be tender yet firm and crisp? Our water and wine glasses never got empty. And everything everyone is saying about the popovers (fresh hot bread) is true. So good. Keith was so knowledgeable about every new item and so friendly and attentive. He should be the poster child for how to do service right. I would definitely recommend this place, and will come again and again. Only have pics of one thing! Was too busy devouring everything else! â˜șïžđŸ˜Š

DO NOT COME HERE! We spent hundreds of dollars only to be served RAW STEAK and disgusting side dishes. Furthermore, the manager was quite dismissive of our complaints (he did comp some sides and our drinks, neither of which we touched— but made snide remarks throughout the evening).

Almost as soon as we sat down, we were served chicken liver pĂątĂ©. Not only is this an extremely niche choice to be serving to every customer, but upon further inspection we noticed it had an extremely strange texture, as if it had not dethawed entirely from the freezer. We ordered the “tuna tartare”, which came out as a perfectly cubical block of tuna chunks sitting over a soupy wasabi/guacamole type mixture. I felt as if I was digging cat food out of a pond, and the taste was similar. We then received our steaks (NY strip and Ribeye) as well as sides of mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were incredibly underdone, to the point where biting them was actually painful and I had to spit it out onto the plate (I am NOT one to do this at a restaurant). The mashed potatoes clearly came from a powder— when we confronted the manager with this complaint, he did not push back to say they were not (our waiter mentioned that another table that evening and HE HIMSELF had the same observation after tasting them).

But all this pales in comparison to how my ribeye steak was prepared. I asked for my ribeye medium rare — but apparently the kitchen heard “medium raw”. Blatantly raw in the middle, I requested that the ribeye be thrown back on the grill to medium rare. I was then presented with a completely well-done steak (brown through and through) along with the manager. When I remarked on the doneness of the steak, he asked me to cut into a different section instead (which I did - it was also brown through and through). At this point I was just grateful that the meat I was eating was not going to be harmful to me.

Again, DO NOT DINE HERE!!! Don’t take it from me— take it from the fact that we were able to make a same-day reservation, on a Saturday night. If you’re looking for a genuine high end dining experience, look elsewhere. If you just want some steak, you’d be better served saving your money and visiting Texas Roadhouse instead (which, mind you, has vastly superior...

Leaving one star because of experience. If rating alone on food, maybe 3.

I went there after work with about 9 coworkers who were coming in and out for small drinks at the bar. We stayed about 4 hours, coworkers coming and going, until there were only about 4 of us. We made sure to buy drinks and food and We left a good tip (spent around $1000).

In any case, it should have been an easy, fun small after work drinks event, but the manager literally ruined our time together. As we got up to leave, we saw a black work jacket on a chair near our group. Thinking it belonged to one of our coworkers who had gone home early, we picked up the work jacket to inspect and ask if it belonged to anyone.

The manager came out screaming at one of our coworkers who was holding the jacket, and accused him of stealing her cigarettes?! My coworker tried to explain he was just making sure it wasnt one of our coworkers but she continued to scream and use profanities against my coworker saying “if you wanted a fxcking cigarette, just ask! Why are you stealing my cigarettes! That’s not cool!”

I was in shock but my coworker just put his hands up and said “No. I was just checking. Sorry. We’re leaving”.

The woman is yelling at us to leave and we do so without fuss.

It’s just very heartbreaking as my coworker is Black and the manager was a white woman and I can’t help but feel like she had a biasness towards him. It was extremely embarrassing for him and us.

It also sucks because we have been coming to this place for drinks after work for years and now we refuse to patron this place because of how they treated our coworker.

The manager is classless.

I still don’t know why she left her jacket near the table where patrons were hanging around and not in the back room with the employees’ stuff. But whatever. It’s K street. Nobody is coming to K street anymore and spending money on restaurants like that since COVID so you lost...

I knew the BLT brand was phenomenal because I had been to BLT burger on 6th Ave in NY many times (now closed). The burgers were the most memorable I have ever had for perfection of cooking to temperature, combination of toppings and overall presentation. BLT Steak in DC is a guarantee of exceptional quality and service so much so that you will never forget it. My husband and I like a seafood option for an appetizer and to share a steak entree with a side of vegetables. Our favorites include the 20 oz Kansas City Strip and the 20 oz NY Strip Steak with Lobster tail. We have had the oysters with Taitinger Champagne and we remember loving the Archval-Ferrer Malbec wine with our steak.

In November we indulged in world renowned steak and red wine in Argentina and thought we would be spoiled for life. I was wrong. Despite how good the steaks were in Buenos Aires' top parrilla's, we are still spoiled by BLT Steak's perfect meats. I learned from living in Japan that each bite counts; fully enjoying food is about quality, subtlety and complexity of flavor and pairings. BLT Steak is a place that every bite of any dish will be exactly that experience. A consultation with the sommelier will guarantee a perfect wine pairing.

What else is good about BLT Steak? The options of steak dipping sauces; you get to pick three to try. My expectations of a high-end restaurant is that I want to say there was something about some aspect of the food I had never tasted before and I doubt I ever will again unless I go right back there. With each steak sauce I tried, I said just that: "Can it get any better? No!" Can the bread get any better? "No!" All of the food is unforgettable here and will have you coming back for more at every...
