(TL;DR: $50 and at least 45 minutes wait for poor service, overpriced beer, stale popcorn covered in yellow-green powder that took over 25 minutes to come out, cold tiny sliders, piles of trash blowing around. Left still hungry, frustrated, and had to drop another $30 on a second dinner down the street immediately after. Do not recommend for food or seated service, no input about arcade aspect of business.)
My partner and I came to the Boardwalk last weekend for an early dinner. The employee sat us against a ledge a few feet down from the bar. He handed us some menus and left. We looked over the menus, unsure whether it was table service or if we needed to go up to a bar to order. The man came back outside to us, took water orders, brought them, and a few minutes later popped his head out of the window a few feet away and took our drink order. At this point we are thinking it is table service, so we sit there and wait for him to come back to take our food order.
While we wait we notice the prices are pretty high. There was trash on the bar next to us including someone’s boba tea order from another restaurant that would sit there with us for the rest of the evening. Eventually enough time passes that my partner decides that it has been way too long to expect that man to come back, so he goes up to the bar to put in our order.
He went up to order and was immediately told “just so you know, we have no pizzas, no hot dogs, and no pretzels” (this cut out at about 2/3 of the substantial menu items, including what we were planning on ordering). My partner put in an order for $6 popcorn with butter (he was starving and assumed this would come quickly and give us something to snack on) and a plate of pulled pork sliders to split.
He comes back, we’re both a little annoyed and getting quite hungry because the ordering confusion took a while, but assume the popcorn must be coming quickly so it should be fine. We noticed a ton of trash was piling up around us, at one point a piece of trash from a nearby pile got caught in the wind and blew onto my lap.
Time passed… and passed… By about 25 minutes in we were both starving and feeling quite irritated, debating just asking to pay for the drink and leave to go somewhere else. Unfortunately, as I was gearing up to go ask to cancel our order, I see what looks like our meal coming up behind the bar. Server drops off our food and just… wow.
Basket of popcorn (that took at Least 25 mins to come out) is cold and stale with a very bizarre yellowy-green powder coating just the top layer of popcorn. We decided to forgo the $6 popcorn because it came with our sliders and we were SO hungry. We both grabbed a slider, which was a very measly amount of meat on a bun with a tiny bit of coleslaw. As I was eating it (which took about two bites) I noticed it was cold. Before I could say anything, my partner said “this is ridiculous, these sliders aren’t even warm”, confirming what I was thinking. The bill, with tip, came over to over $50.
Let’s break it down for one moment. $50 and at least 45 minutes wait for one beer, one basket of inedible popcorn, and three small, cold sliders. We left so frustrated and still starving that we ended up walking down to Ramsay’s Fish & Chips for a real meal (which took less than 10 minutes to get food, cost less than $30, and got us both hot, fresh, delicious food and milkshakes that actually satisfied us).
We spent that entire meal stuck on the experience at the Boardwalk. It was that feeling of being so angry because you feel you’ve been robbed. Something about having paid $50 for that experience (and then having to buy a second dinner immediately after, meaning the night ended up being a $80 night) is just haunting both of us (even days later).
So, in conclusion, if you are looking for food - including something as simple as popcorn - you’re better off stopping by CVS to pick up a frozen meal and microwave popcorn. Trust me - it’ll save you time and money and perhaps actually be an edible meal.

Read moreTried this place for the first time on a a Friday night. We walked in and were greeted by a very nice hostess. She sat us down right away. Now the problems begin…Our server starts taking our order. As we’re giving our order, we asked questions about the food (mind you it was our first time) he begins to rush us and says “we need to hurry because the kitchen is about to close.”Huh? Shouldn’t we have been given that info before we were seated?! Anywho, we place our order and the server says, “you have to pay now”. since when are you asked to pay for your food before you receive it at a dine in restaurant?? Foolishly, we paid. (We were starving and had children with us). 10 min later, our server brings our drinks. He literally sits the drinks at the end of the table and walks off. So I had to pass everyone’s drink around the table, mind you there were 6 of us. The cups were all fun size. That part didn’t matter I guess for the refillable fount drinks. But 2 of the kids ordered Sherley Temples at $5+ a piece in a fun size cup that was not refillable! The food comes out and we were disappointed. The quality of the food didn’t match the price at all! Pricey meals with no fries or sides. My daughter hated her pizza, another kid took two bites of her taco and didn’t like it. My nachos were a joke. for 15 bucks, I did not expect movie theater nachoes. I’ve paid that much at other restaurants for way better quality. My son had chicken sliders, he said those were good. Our waiter did not give us napkins or utensils. We had to look for him several times for help. Another server ended up helping. We were fuming because we foolishly tipped him while paying early! I almost never write reviews, but this one was necessary. I literally felt like I was robbed. Like literally. We were initially going to eat shake shack and wish we would have. Their food is pricey as well but def worth it. I would have been happier giving it to them. THEN, when it was time to leave, I walked up to the bar to inquire about paring validation. I asked the guy behind the bar and I don’t think he understood English well. Instead of saying he was going to get someone to help me, he walks over to another customer and starts helping them. Then as another employee walks by, he asked him to help me. The whole experience was terrible. I hope this is not how Boardwalk does business all the time. Either way, we won’t...
Read moreWhere do I start? I preference this by saying this was our first experience with this “restaurant” and it was a holiday.
Granted I was late to my reservation because I put the wrong location into my GPS. I was supposed to arrive at 11 and got there at 1130. I called prior to find out if my late arrival would affect my reservation time. The person on the phone said “we are pretty busy and when you arrive I’ll let you know what the seating availability is and how much time you will have.” That struck me as odd as if I would be rushed to eat to accommodate the next patron.
Upon arrival my lady and son went into the establishment while I found parking. When I walked in I was immediately asked for a card to put on file before I even sat down. Before I was given a menu greeting anything. The waiter was very monotone as if he was bored or regretted having to work on New Year’s Day. After giving us menus he asked for our drink orders in which we asked for 3 waters and 3 orange juices.
When the water was brought to the table it was given to us with 3 cups and a plastic pitcher of what seemed to be tap water with ice and 1 orange juice although we asked for 3.
We elected to order the buffet breakfast from the menu which we all had to get because if one got it everyone got it which I understood.
After taking our order we sat at the table waiting for food as the waiter passed us by multiple times. Once he noticed that we had been served any food he stopped and said “oh yeah my bad this is a self serve buffet. The food is over there. Help yourself.” 😒
My family fixed their plates. The scrambled eggs were dry and old, turkey sausage was under cooked, French toast was alright, the breakfast potatoes were over seasoned with pepper and dry. The potatoes tasted as if there were just thawed out of a bag and briefly fried enough to present as cooked.
We weren’t checked up on for refills for our orange juice either.
Overall, i don’t know if this establishment is known just because folks play games, get drinks but I certainly would say it’s not for the breakfast.
To top it all off. They...
