We've previously only come at night. Today was transformative. We had tickets to the EVERYTHING EVERYONE ALL AT ONCE FEST. That was a nice event with many food and craft vendors, plus quite varied musical entertainment from multiple bands. Soul, R&B to 2nd Line New Orleans. Found the contoured seats (set of 5), plus the water fountain for kids and pets, and the huge gas fire pit. Restaurant galore, people, cultures, languages, kids, dogs, motorized personal transport. The weather was around 80, the sun was out, but still at a lower angle. It was like being out of the country. There was a family reunion of at least 15 persons. A wonderful mix of life. We're very fortunate to live in this marvelous place. So much, so close, so extraordinary. Go.

Filipino food festival at the pier lacked planning. This was the very first one and hopefully the planners do better handling the crowd in the future. When purchasing tickets, most people believed that a ticket would get you food samples. The ticket actually got you "a sample". Each person attending should have purchased 3 to 5 tickets each. The lines for the samples were 20 to 30 minute waits. I know this was the first year so we were patient. Next year, not so much.

One of DC's best kept secrets. Both a relaxing and energetic place all at once depending on your exact location at any given time. Lined with shops and restaurants throughout the entire promenade..
