I booked this event to celebrate my fiancee's 40th birthday with several dozen of our friends. Given the extremely high cost of this service (approaching $150 a ticket), I thought I'd be getting something special to mark the occasion. Nothing could have been further from the truth, and nearly every person we brought with us commented at some point or another during the evening about how something had irked them. I'll list the highlights here:
-Unresponsive team with regard to booking the event to begin with -A buffet with extremely average food that we had to wait multiple times to get refilled and was then taken away completely for the evening before the one hour point -DJ managed to both get my fiancee's name wrong when announcing her birthday, then failed to play the one song she requested for the evening -Music was incredibly loud, to the point many of our guests had to retreat to the back of the boat to not have their ears blown out -The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and filled with a terrible smell that ran the entire length of the evening, so I don't even know what was going on there
In general, this entire operation feels like a money grab, and my fiancee was beyond brokenhearted by her evening. Her friends and I went out the next weekend to celebrate her birthday to a lovely restaurant that wound up costing less than half as much per person with far nicer food and amenities. It got crowded and there were not enough seats, the popcorn could have definitely been free considering the price people paid. It says it started at 80 after all the charges they add on itâs really wasnât worth it. I should have looked at the boat here on google first because i compared it to the dc cruise which was very nice but extremely expensive so we stuck the Alexandria one. I figured it was cheaper cause they werenât serving food maybe a smaller boat but it was actually disappointing. Itâs one temperature control floor with limited sitting so some people sat outside on the rooftop.
It would have been okay if they added something to warm the sitting area up outside. At least for night time.
The customer service online is mediocre, they are rude and really just there to do their job and leave.
The customer service on the actual boat is amazing! No complaints about those employees they are amazing.
I give them 3 stars because of their online customer service and their pricing.
The food from the Christmas lunch tour from Dc is alright. The champagne is the best part.

People were in line waiting for it to arrive and finally my sister went and asked an employee where the boat was, and was told it had broken down and wasnât coming. This kind of thing happens, itâs understandable, but there was a whole group of people waiting and no effort was made to tell anyone. An announcement should have been made, or a sign put up, anything. (I didnât get an email until 3 hours later telling me that the boat was cancelled. This is not helpful) We were told that maybe we could get the next boat, an hour later, but there was no guarantee because it might be sold out. When we asked about getting a refund we were told the only way to do this was to email the manager directly and ask. We were given an email address for the manager and I sent a message right away explaining the situation and requesting a refund. This was over a week ago and I have heard nothing back and have not received a refund for the money we paid for the tickets.
