The food was great, the service is awful for a sit-down that takes “reservations”. Grab your to go order and run. The bartender was completely absent with bringing menus, taking the correct orders, and was more interested in talking to people he knew that came in.

He kept leaving his post to go chat up a coworker, ignoring 3 other patrons that were trying to close their tabs. During that time other people who came to sit down had to go to the front counter to order because he was negligent in bringing them menus or even acknowledging that they were there.

When trying to close out myself I waited for 10 minutes at the bar and he never turned to me once despite me trying to flag him down and calling out to him. I had to go to the take out ordering, flag a person down and have them chase after him to let him know I was trying to close out.

With how it wasn’t even that busy, the lack of hospitality, and the amount of other staff milling around I will never be back to dine in. I would have been fine accepting this poor service, taking the hit and moving on with life. However, because it happened to a half dozen other patrons as well is just completely sloppy and frankly makes the whole business look awful.

As we were indulging in “recreational” activities we seen that bagels was one of the challenges on MasterChef and IMMEDIATELY wanted one so we searched high and low for a DEDICATED bagel spot. Which brings us to Bullfrog. We seen it was highly recommended and now we fully understand. I got the BLT with sriracha Mayo on a pumpernickel bagel and she got the SSA-lox which was smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado and capers. Didn’t sound good to me but to get it was to die for…something about cream cheese and salmon just doesn’t do it for me but I digress. Bullfrog Bagels is an H Street institution, which you'll clearly see any Saturday morning when it's packed to the gills with eager bagel lovers. Known for their bagel sandwiches, they have a wide-offering from lox, to pastrami, to brisket, and more. Don't be scared away by the long line either! That's what means it's good!

My recommendation is to bring a friend and split the sandwiches in half to share so you can taste what they have on offer. I'm excited to keep going here to test out the rest of the menu.

My only hope is that they're able to expand in this space. The bar they had been sharing the space with -- Star and Shamrock -- recently closed down (RIP), limiting the room they currently...
