For some weird reason, I avoided this new Thai spot along H Street NE because of its name. I am just not into a "tiki" vibe (or drinks). Despite this, my wife suggested we visit and I am so glad she did. I am a HUGE fan of Tiki Garden Thai Street Food. Here's why.
Every single dish was perfect and each balanced spice well- spicy, but not overpowering. My green curry was among the best I've had in D.C. Same with my wife's drunken noodles. Our six-year-old daughter loved her Pad Thai. She even went up to the owners to tell them how good it was!
Drinks: As they wait for their liquor license, they have an array of non-alcoholic drinks. The Thai iced tea is refreshing- not too sweet, but sweet enough.
Price: Our total bill of three entrees and two Thai iced teas came to $50.
Service: From start to finish, it was professional, kind, and warm. During our visit, a woman in drugs came in acting very erratic. The staff interacted with her in a gentle, yet protective way. It made us respect the owners.
Space: It's one large room with a bar in the back. It's kept clean...
First Time at Tiki Garden Thai Street Food DC â A Flavor-Packed Experience
I finally made it to Tiki Garden Thai Street Food DC after hearing a lot of good things, and Iâm glad I followed the reviewsâthey were spot on.
I ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp, Spring Rolls, and the Thai Chili Wings, and each item held its own.
The Thai Basil Fried Rice was the standout for me. It had just the right balance of spice and aromatics, with that signature wok-charred flavor. The shrimp were plump and juicy, and the basil added a fresh punch that really elevated the whole dish.
The Spring Rolls were crisp and light, served with a sweet chili sauce that complemented them nicelyânothing greasy or heavy, just a perfect starter to ease in.
But those Thai Chili Wings? Fire. Literally and figuratively. They packed some serious heat but didnât skimp on flavor. The glaze was sticky, spicy, and a little sweet, exactly how wings like this should be.
Service was quick and friendly, and the vibe had that casual street food energy but with a little extra charm.
If youâre into bold Thai flavors, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Iâm already thinking about what I want to...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant for the very first time via Doordash delivery on March 16, 2024. I called the restaurant prior to placing my order to ensure the special instructions could be made. I spoke with Eli, he put me on a brief hold and responded with yes regarding the special instructions request. I proceeded to place my order and once I did, I received a call from Eli confirming order. Great customer service from him. Phone exchange was very pleasant and professional. He went up and beyond to give me a call back when my call was missed. Moving on to the food. I ordered Drunken noodles, which I will most definitely order again 8/10 score. Maybe next time request extra sauce to get that 10/10 score (just a tab more). The spring rolls, I personally think had too much noodles. Perhaps, less noodles or just remove them from the recipe. I'll give them a 7.2/10 score. The food arrived warm, which is great given that the driver ride was at least 25-30 mins. Overall, I will order again and actually looking forward to trying other dishes. Thank you again to Eli for following my special requests and providing great...
