My husband and I went out to celebrate my graduation. We got there around 515. Now we have been to this place many times and the manager is really rough with the customers. I try to ignore it but he’s kind of really rude. Like the way he even gives menus it gives me a vibe and a unspoken feeling of hey here’s the menu, eat fast and get out. So we were talking and we had ate. There was a lovely young lady who dropped off the check, and a super lovely African American guy who gave us the to- go containers and a younger Indian guy who made our drinks. I liked their service. Anyways the manager knows us because we come in there but still it’s weird like he doesn’t like us. When we were drinking he came up and said I need for you guys to leave because we need this table and there were only 2 other tables. Like wtf…I have never in my life been kicked out of a restaurant. It was only 6pm and it was dead. We were going to leave within 5 minutes before he came up to us because we wanted to walk to friendship heights to go to DSW. I don’t think we will ever be back. That manager is rude and mean. Like stop talking down to your customers. It’s rude. It’s always a hit or miss. It’s like when I go there I think is he going to be in a good mood or not? I found a Indian restaurant in Bethesda called Virraaj. The manager there is superb. He is always friendly and more over cares about his customers. He is always welcoming to us. I wish I didn’t waste my graduation dinner here. I should have gone to Virraaj. Anyways...
Read moreIf you love Indian food, you HAVE TO come here!!!Cafe of India is beautiful and delicious. When you walk in, you’re immediately greeted with a smile. The atmosphere is so relaxing and I immediately felt so comfortable. Bonus points because the seats in the booth are super comfortable. It is absolutely stunning in here. Everything from the curtains to the gorgeous wall mural is just so elegant. The service is amazing. I’m not kidding when I say my water glass never got even close to empty. We were frequently checked in on and the wait for the food wasn’t long at all. The food is perfection. I will never go anywhere else for my Indian food cravings. To start, we had the Paneer Tikka and the Tava Eggplant which were both so good. I was so excited to eat it that I totally forgot to take pictures. For the entrees, I had the Palak Gosht and my partner had the Lamb Curry. The Palak Gosht was amazing and my partner said he loved the Lamb Curry. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone who loves Indian food or is...
Read moreWas taken there for my birthday. My cocktail was superb and some of the best samosas I've had. They weren't too oily and mostly flaky and crispy. For Dinner, thw wife had Chicken Tikka Masala which tasted amazing and the chicken was very tender. It tasted "simple" and I do mean that in the nicest way considering I've had this dish at other restaurants and the flavors and spices are too overpowing. I had the Miz tandoori platter with a delicious lamb and chicken tikka. As good as they were, the star of the dish is the salmon. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Many restaurants don't get salmon right and it's usually overcooked and to my delight that was not the case here. Accompanied by the basket of naan that includes regular, onion, and garlic flavors and rice were a great combination. Raj and his staff deliver high quality of service and friendliness to the customer to go along with the delectable cuisine. Bravo Raj, bravo. I Can't...
