for more information, i’m an avid Japanese restaurant goer. i ordered two Hokkaido (salmon and avocado) rolls for dinner at 7:30pm. it came out to be 16 dollars, 20 with tax and tip. i hate to give these type of restaurants a poor rating but the salmon has a questionable taste. in my first bite i immediately noticed it was also lukewarm. also, some rolls were heavy on the rice. but the rice does has some flavor. hey, the carbs filled me up though. for two rolls it’ll fill you up so i’ll give them that. only a few rolls had an equal portion of salmon and avocado. so like almost any other sushi, it was disproportionate. on some rolls there was so much rice it covered the other side of the roll (seen in the photos). this might just be a preference of mine, but i don’t like a lot of rice, i need to really taste the fish in the maki. i don’t know if i’d go to this spot again. i’ll look for a better place nearby.

Casual Japanese restaurant with delicious sushi and a variety of entrees. As an appetizer, we shared the delicately fried shrimp tempura which had a whisper-thin batter that enveloped the succulent shrimp. For my main, I had the Chicken Terriyaki. This was a generous portion of tender, juicy and flavorful chicken that had a delightful texture and taste. If you're looking for delicious Japanese food at a reasonable price, then this is the place to be.

I came here to this japanese restaurant for the "Sukiyaki" specifically and while the dish was Excellent, the beef was a bit tough, not as tender as I would have like, but otherwise very authentic and delicious. I will definitely be back and will order it again. As well as everything else we had, great authentic japanese food! The service was great as well, atmosphere was your average sushi bar experience.

I really hate to be a hater of a restaurant that has been in buisness for so long, but honestly, this meal sucked. Well, there goes my 80 dollars. The appetizers were “fine”. Just “fine”. The salad looked as if it was only there to show looks, it tasted old. However, I will give them this, the dumplings were pretty good. Tip: the kitchen closes at 9, the restaurant itself closes at 9:30. Now, back to the food. The sushi came, and every single roll was quite bad. The crunchies in my tuna, and salmon roll were stale, and tasted frankly like wood. My brother, with his crab roll, had to literally remove the crab from the roll, it was, yes, that bad. This continued on for every single roll. The stalking owner proceeded to stare at us for almost every single second of our meal. Every. Second. We then took a trip to the restrooms, which included two doors: The front, which you lock, and then an oddly placed second door, as if you needed it. Well, we definitely got privacy in the restroom at least! Just DONT go here, please. We went here because of the positive reviews, but PLEASE, just don’t risk it...

The freshest sushi I have ever had, period! I am a sushi fan and I have it once a week minimum--for decades at this point, so I think I'm a bit of a connoisseur, though not a snob. I sincerely cannot fathom how this place can get one star reviews. The only way is perhaps from folk coming during their $2 per piece happy hour. Obviously, quality, quantities and service aren't excellent then, but in the years I've been a regular customer I have never experienced what nayers here describe--not even close. The food could not be fresher or better tasting. Perhaps the thumbs down reviews come from traditionalists. Does entering this place transport you to Japan? No. The décor is minimalist and there is barely an attempt to give the place a Japanese feeling (definitely the 2nd floor though with its traditional no shoe low table setting). The service is very friendly and efficient. This place is all about the food and nothing else. Zero pretensions, which are reflected in very affordable prices, particularly for sushi, and especially given...
