My friends and I went here to celebrate our friends birthday and by far this will be the first and last time that we will be eating here. We sat in and our rudely server Jessica has provided disappointing customer service. She took my friends orders and by the time she took my order, she walks away on me while I was still trying to give my order. When I told her about herself and her professionalism, she then catches an attitude like I told her to work there.
She comes back 5 minutes later and apologized which didn’t cut it. She messed up my order and didn’t give me Mac and cheese as I requested as a side and gave me cabbage. She also gave me cornbread instead of Hawaiian rolls that I wanted. She also didn’t tell us that the cornbread that didn’t taste that good was going to be $1 more and we found out about that until we got our check. I had a sprite that came in a regular size party cup with a straw that was super long. Mind you there were already straws at the table.
When she came back around and asked were we ok, I then begin to tell her about how disappointed I was in when she messed up my order and Jessica catches another attitude. Jessica then had the audacity to ask me do I still want the Mac and Cheese like the food down near gone and told me I could have just told her that like how am I supposed to do that if you keep moving around. She then goes back to the bar and starts to complain to the people at the bar about what I said like she knows she is the wrong.
Moreover, she then asked my friend did he still want his brisket and cheese egg rolls like what type of question is that and he paid for it. To top everything off, I gave her a 50 cent tip for her unprofessionalism and rude...
Read moreI am truly baffled by the high ratings for this place. We stumbled upon it while in DC. For those with limited mobility, the restaurant is at the top of a flight of narrow stairs and there's no elevator or other option for getting to the top. I felt really nervous up there because there seemed to only be one way out and if a fire or something broke out, we were all going to be in trouble unless we wanted to go out the window. Seating options are very limited as there are only a handful of tables. While the servings were enormous, the food was horrible. Me and my bf ordered salmon cakes with corn pudding and collard greens. The only saving grace, and the reasons for two stars instead of one, were the collard greens, which had a nice taste. The salmon cakes were overcooked, bland and so dry, and the corn pudding looked and tasted as if it were a week old. Plus it was crazy sweet. We ended up not eating most of our food. Note that they automatically added gratuity and some kind of random fee to your check. Our total was like $60 for the food; the only thing we drank was water. Everybody working there seemed really nice but I felt it was important to leave a genuine review of my experience because the reviews are what led us there. I wish them all the best but this is not a place that I would...
Read moreGive respect when respect is due. I appreciate these people so much I found out about them on GrubHub started ordering and just like always GrubHub tends to let you down because consistency is never there with the restaurants that we order from I don’t know if these people pay attention to the names that come through on their order form and they try to go above and beyond when they see orders coming in repetitively from the same people but if they are or if they just take care of everyone like this I am appreciative of these type of people working in the food industry these are the most consistent people in the business that I have been ordering from since my time in Washington DC This food taste amazing I have to order three or four times a week now. When the food tastes good it makes you want to go and sit down and eat it where it’s being prepared the brisket every single time will make a man who has not eaten in days feel like he has over eaten within 10 min . The macaroni taste like your grandmother’s recipe and this cream corn is like something out of the dessert side playbook with a audible called before a touchdown! And if you want a piece of this sweet potato pie you gotta buy your own and tell me James...
